Usually we just take it to a bottle bank but we’ve been isolating and the wine (ahem) bottles are starting to stack up!

Our bin men take all recycling bar glass so into the general waste?

Our glass recycling is a 5 minute walk so I take it every couple of days on my walk.

Ours is still normal, and it all goes in one bin. Garden waste collected too. Hope it continues.

It always amazes me how different the schemes are. I'm grateful that we just have one bin and everything goes in it including glass.

The car, the shed, the garage, covered up somehow outside?

That's crazy re the recycling. Ours is continuing for now other than brown bins.
Hope that this is one of the things that are prioritised when lockdown starts to ease slightly.
Noticed that there wine bottles than usual going in bottle bank!

I guess it's about risk. Those guys are out all the time coming into contact with all sorts so it makes sense to streamline their activities as much as possible. With the waste bins around here they can clip them onto the back of the lorry and it tips and empties them but the recycling is in plastic boxes that they have to physically lift and empty. I wouldn't want to be doing that eg with tinnies and all that right now.

Our garden waste isn’t being collected at the moment so what won’t fit in the compost is going in the normal bin.

Bluesheep8 · 08/04/2020 13:23

We're just taking it to the bottle bank as normal when one of us is going to the supermarket.
