Asics trainers

I really like these trainers, but I'm stuck on whether to order a 5.5 or a 6 (they are men's - do men's tend to run bigger?)

I'm normally a size 6, but sometimes need to order a 5.5 (for example in Vans I'm a 5.5)

If you own Asics trainers do they run small or large or true to size?

I won't be running in them, I have a pair of Brooks for that, just need some walking about trainers.

Appreciate that this is a seriously dull thread

Mens trainers tend to be deeper and sometimes wider, so it does depend on your foot.

I am a sz6 but my Asics which I use for running are a 6.5, half a sz up as my toes needed the extra space

I have quite narrow feet, so possibly size down to the 5.5 then?

Vino would you normally size up a half or full size?

I wear ASICS men's and still have to size up half a size

LetTheCabbagesDie · 07/04/2020 23:29

blossom so you consistently find them to be too small?

I'm generally a 5.5. I have three pairs of ASICS in different styles and they are all size 6. I've got fairly narrow feet too.

I'm a size 7 and my Asics trainers are an 8. They cone up really small.

I've run in Asics for years and always buy a half-size up. Not sure whether Men’s shoes differ.

iVampire · 08/04/2020 07:51

Always order at least a half size bigger, usually they’d recommend a full size larger. You need the clearance around your toes (not least to keep your toenails)

You need the additional length, irrespective of the width

IamHyouweegobshite · 08/04/2020 07:52

I've had 2 pairs of asics trainers, both pairs had to be a size bigger than normal. However, they were women's trainers, so men's may be made slightly different.

Why's that? I'm not running in them...

Cheers all, I shall order the size 6 Smile

Yeah don’t buy the smaller size. Asics need to be big. I had a version of that style and bought my normal size even though in trainers/shoes I can sometime buy half a size down.

blossomwilloughby · 08/04/2020 23:04

I've bought ASICs from a variety of proper running shops over the years and always end up in men's styles due to the width of my feet and the shop assistant has only ever brought out shoes half a size bigger than I measure
