Hi, I know it's 99.9% sure I won't be going on my summer holiday to New York at the end of August. However just in case does anyone know if the passport office is still open. I've tried to find out online and can't find any information about time frames etc. I won't be applying just yet as I presume they are closed but if anyone has any friends or relatives that work for the passport office would you be able to find out for me. Thanks x

I googled British Passport Coronavirus and this article came up

www.express.co.uk/travel/articles/1260210/passport-application-new-British-passports-travel-ban-uk

"British citizens can still buy a passport despite the ongoing coronavirus.
A spokesman from the Home Office said that flight cancellations and the latest travel advice from FCO does not impact on people applying for a passport."

Yes it is.
I started a renewal application at the beginning of March, before the lockdown, and got a text today to remind me that they are still open and that I have to send my old passport in asap.
Trouble is finding a post office that is open, because it needs to be weighed and sent as 'signed for'

Post offices are all open where I am.
