Found a lump - is it urgent urgent?

Am aware that all other medical care doesn’t stop but my GP surgery are snowed under and I don’t want to ask for an urgent telephone triage appointment if it can wait a few days.

I have a lump on my outer thigh. It’s not itchy or painful but uncomfortable/achy if I’m lying on my side which is how I noticed it. It’s quite large, maybe a couple of inches.

Could it be a cyst or something? Please reassure me it’s nothing “nasty”. I’m a worrier even though logically, I know it’s something like a cyst or something equally simple.

Is it a bite?

LumpyMcLumpLeg · 07/04/2020 15:37

I can’t see a bite. It’s not red, doesn’t itch. It’s just a lump thing. Probably closer to 3 inches now I’ve inspected it closer.

Can you ring your GP surgery and explain your concerns to the receptionist? They should be able to advise you. You may be able to send a photo to the surgery for the GP to look at, then they will advise you of what to do.

@LumpyMcLumpLeg did you ever get this looked at? I have recently discovered a lump too and my GP is concerned about how quickly it is growing. I’m waiting for an ultrasound. Hope yours turned out to be nothing serious!

Just go to your GP!
I have had to go once and take my very vulnerable daughter twice and my surgery is as safe as can be.
