What after Malory Towers (TV)

DD(8) and I have just watched our way through the TV adaptation of Malory Towers, 2 or 3 episodes at a time. It was a lovely late afternoon ritual for a couple of weeks, which marked the transition from school and work to evening time.

Anyway, we’ve watched them all now. Apart from the Worst Witch, what could we watch next? Nothing loud and cartoony please, also not unicorn/sparkles/fairies.

Have you seen Anne With An “E:? Remake of Anne of Green Gables. Very wholesome and charming, we are about to start season 3, completely hooked. Perfect escapism.

Theres a new version of The Demon Headmaster on iplayer. I haven't watched it but loved the original.

Hetty Feather

We watched Malory Towers, then the new Demon Headmaster (dd did have a nightmare when the DH from the original series had a cameo - personally I found the new DH more unsettling). Now on Hetty Feather, as dd has run out of Worst Witch, Just Add Magic, She-Ra and My Perfect Landing.

I would suggest Mako Mermaids/H2O but that might be a no based on your no unicorn/fairies/sparkles.
