Hi everyone, Dd turns one soon. All our original plans have gone out of the window due to covid. We will be having a party with grandparents etc. When this is all over. She has had her presents because we need them to keep her entertained while stuck indoors.
So has anyone got a small nice idea to do on the day to mark the occasion? That isn't presents or a party.
Tia.

Looking for ideas. My DD is turning 3. Party has obviously been cancelled but even the simplest things like taking her new bike for a ride at the park is a no-no at the moment. Worried it will just be like any other day!

A 1yo won't care - so do something that you enjoy. Possibly make a cake - and use this as the start of a tradition of an apt theme. I saw a pic of a cake shaped like a loo roll. You could even keep a little album of pics of cakes over the years

Does your 3yo know when her birthday is? Because if not, I'd just delay it (somshe doesn't know, but obvs you'd need to tell other adults what you're doing). If you have little sense of calendar, the difference between April and May might not be too apparent

Bake a cake together, put up decorations (can be hand made), put on some silly songs and dance about the living room, have a dress up day or a pyjama day, have an indoor picnic or a teddy bear picnic , make a tent with a bed sheet and have an adventure.

You could make a cake and arrange a video call with your wider family to sing happy birthday and blow out the candles? Other than that, all she'll want is playtime with her parents, so don't worry about it from her point of view! It's nice to have an event to celebrate when all of this is over - hope the eventual party is a lovely one 😊

All good ideas thank you, making a cake sounds fun. If we can buy flour.
