Cleaning second hand books?

eggandtoasty · 07/04/2020 06:31

I've bought a pile of second hand books from eBay (lockdown entertainment Grin). Is there a way to clean second hand books from any nasties lurking on them?

Or am I just being paranoid about germs now probably

If you are really concerned you could just take them in, leave them wrapped, put in a corner, wash hands and leave alone for 48 hours.

SnuggyBuggy has it, I would do 72 hours though.

Leave them sealed for now and then place them outside in the sunlight tomorrow.
Do you have any alcohol (isopropyl alcohol) or neat vodka (which doesn't have a high enough percentage to kill all microbes but is better than nothing)?
You can put alcohol in a spray bottle and mist the books while they sit outside in the sun.

We use mrmuscle at the library. But if by germs you mean the corona virus then leaving for 72 hours is probably easiest.
