Best tablet for elderly Aunt - kids tablet?

Hello

90 year old Aunt is refusing to use her laptop now, as there are too many options. We need something very simple, with internet access, but ideally with just three or four options on the homepage which we could set up for her - email, plus a couple of favourite websites, and a photo folder. (Remote access for us would be a real bonus too, but not essential.)

Does such a thing exist? She's not stupid but she has lost confidence in an all singing, all dancing laptop.

Thank youuuu

We tend to hide everything not used into a folder which just leaves the apps that are regularly used available. Makes it easier for mum to know what is okay to click and what to avoid. You can also save webpages onto the tablet home page so Mum uses those rather than trying to find the bookmarks in the browser.

Parent controls can then be set up to restrict changing anything (depends on your tablet for what these actually are). We tend to turn off things in the settings like mobile data access so my mum just has wifi or nothing.

I’m just setting up a Samsung Galaxy phone for my elderly uncle. I don’t know what other makes do this, but this phone has an Easy Mode where the screens have limited, large icons and everything is simplified. It’s great. It’s possible the laptop has a similar setting...

We stuck with the laptop for my DM as it is what she is used to but DH hid everything she doesn't need to use which was everything except Firefox

She also needed everything with large type, large icons and still needed to click to use things as scrolling/touch screen was incompatible with a tremor.

We learnt this the hard way when we bought a kindle for my DF and then discovered he just couldn't learn a new technology.

Thanks so much everyone. So it's not an easy tablet we need, but the know how to switch it onto Easy Mode and to simplify it as much as poss.

Really helpful. Thank youuuu
