5yo getting anxious about leaving the house

Hi

For the last few week or so, my 5yo DD has been saying she doesn’t want to go out on the daily walk - we’ve been forcing it anyway but brought her home early a couple of times. However, she’s now saying that she doesn’t even want to go in the garden! Any advice? Do we keep forcing her to go out? She can’t articulate what is worrying her

Got the same with an almost 5 year old in the family. We have had to tell her that she can't go to school go and see nana or go on the playpark because of germs.
She's now got the idea that the only safe place is inside where if we wash our hands there are no germs.
Not sure what to do either don't want her too scared to do anything when this thing is over. I think we will have to cross that bridge when we come to it.

I think this will become extremely common. I feel exactly the same and I am a reasonably rational adult. I would say take it very very easy, dont push it, make any time, however short, spent outside as calm and pleasurable as possible.

Yes, we’ve been going easy but encouraging her to spend short periods of time outside. I’m just worried that if she is like this after only 2 weeks of lockdown what is it going to be like by the time the schools re-open. I think 5 is such a difficult age as they understand what the issue is but can’t put it into perspective😢
