Hi All

Do you have a smart meter (I don't))? If so, how much of an increase are you seeing in bills etc just wondering how big a hike can be expected!

Erm I was spending an extra 3 - 5 pound a day. This was due to having the heating On 25 all day as I feel the cold. DH has now put a scedual on the heating and locked it so I can't change the temp, he told me to wear a jumper instead Blush.

If my DH locked the heating, I’d divorce him

We're spending about £4-£5 a day on gas and electricity... we had the smart meter put in about a month ago and I refused to look at it because it was 'just something else to take up space on the kitchen top'... now I can't stop watching it.
I'm the one going around turning things off now, was never bothered before I could see it clocking up! 🙄

We’re spending about an extra tenner a week. I imagine it’s largely down to having the heating on more and the washing machine (I can see the bottom of the washing basket!!) definitely not the 10 cups of tea I now drink a day

Ah thanks for the replies.

We can't get a smart meter due to the position of the pipes and I was wondering about the sudden increase.

I've got the heating on all day!

I would divorce someone who put the heating on 25 to be fair

I hate mine! I swear it is trying to swindle me. Sometimes I sneak up on it when nothing electrical is on in the house and it’s up in the fucking amber area! Then it thinks “shit, I’ve been spotted” and the arrow drops right down to the bottom of the green area! Bastard.

Feelthefear01 · 07/04/2020 14:25

He gets more annoyed when I have the heating On and sit next to an open window stating I like the fresh air but without being cold.

PotteringAlong · 07/04/2020 14:27

No, the weather is warmer, I can dry washing outside and we don’t need the heating on. I’ve spent 57p today, gas and electricity. Our bills are well down
