What are you doing at home for easter with the kids? Are you doing any crafts or decorating etc? Easter bunny?

I'm decorating the living room. We don't usually but it's so miserable for them this year, not being able to spend it with family. So I've bought decorations and Easter balloons and I'm going to do it when they're asleep. Also an egg hunt which relatives usually do. I want to make it a bit different to every other rotten day at the moment.

Most likely Easter crafts and an Easter egg hunt.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 06/04/2020 18:00

Yes we will definitely still be doing a hunt!

We’re doing an inside egg hunt. Luckily I bought the eggs before lockdown.

SallyWD · 06/04/2020 18:01

Definitely easter egg hunt, walks to the park, picnic in the garden, baking together.

PatchworkElmer · 06/04/2020 18:03

Lots of crafts already done. Egg hunt in the garden (hopefully!) Roast dinner (hopefully!)

Waxonwaxoff0 · 06/04/2020 18:05

Easter egg hunt round the house for DS. Buying myself a box of chocs and a bottle of Baileys!

Greenbutterlfy566 · 06/04/2020 18:05

What type of crafts has everyone been doing?

Egg hunt, making a wreath from an egg box. Eating chocolate. Oh yes and working easter sunday and easter monday.

DinosApple · 06/04/2020 18:36

Egg hunt and cooking our traditional family Easter meal.
Usually my mum cooks and we visit, but I'll have to pull my finger out and be a grown up this year.

Kids will make rice crispy cakes, and probably home made egg bunting or something.

DinosApple · 06/04/2020 18:39

Never done the Easter bunny though. Keeping FC secret is more than enough!

Whathappenedtothelego · 06/04/2020 18:44

Hoping to get a piece of lamb or beef for roast dinner on Sunday, and boiled eggs for breakfast.

Egg hunt, I've done clues already.

We'll make chocolate nests with cornflakes and decorated with mini eggs.
DC are making cards to post to family.
Will make a cake if I can get flour - also going to get some seeds to plant.
Family board games and movie night.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 06/04/2020 20:13

Thanks everyone for ideas. Haven't got much stocked up though which is a shame.

Got eggs in before lockdown. DH didn’t realise so on his supermarket shop a week ago got more. We will be drowning in chocolate and do a hunt. DS2 has made Easter bunting. I have killed the oven (don’t ask) so we will not be having a roast, which is very sad.

Stompythedinosaur · 06/04/2020 20:17

Treasure hunt around the house, then an egg hunt in the garden. The dc are going to help cook a roast dinner. We'll have a video call with family.

happypotamus · 06/04/2020 21:12

I assume the Easter bunny will still come. That has always been DH's job. I don't know how it will work this year, because usually he hides the eggs while DC and I are at church. I assume the smallish chocolate eggs are still in the supermarket. i would usually buy DC a small not-chocolate gift (toy/ book/ clothes) but can't this year, so they are getting a bigger chocolate egg from us, which is ok because they won't get them from anyone else because we won't see family. We are making some crafts/ cards and posting them to relatives. Don't know what we will eat though, might have a roast dinner and vegan DH can find a meat substitue.

Barbararara · 07/04/2020 08:33

We have plastic eggs from old Easter egg hunts so we’re hanging this on ribbon and making an Easter tree.

We’re going to decorate some paper eggs and bunnies and decorate the window as well to give the local kids something to look at.

I got eggs, and some lamb in before lockdown so that’s sorted.

Allthepinkunicorns · 07/04/2020 08:39

Yesterday we collected some twigs and I spray painted them white. I've put them in a jug as my Easter tree. We also made and painted some salt dough Easter decorations and it looks very pretty. I've got a few more Easter crafts planned for the next week some of which have been set by the school. On Easter Sunday I think we will watch Peter rabbit or hop which my ds loves and scoff all the chocolates. I've also got some hot cross buns in the freezer.

Camomila · 07/04/2020 09:17

We will watch the pope do his blessing on tv and then luckily I have an unopened easter biscuit kit (expires 2021) and easter cupcakes cases in the cupboard from last year so I'll do some baking with DS1. DH will make a roast.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 07/04/2020 13:12

Thanks all. What type of crafts and decorations are you doing besides trees?

Today we made Easter cards and posted them. DD2 wants to make carrot cake and DH wants to make Easter biscuits. I've also got lots of small wrapped eggs for av Easter egg hunt. Might make an Easter garden too if the DCs are keen.

Greenbutterlfy566 · 07/04/2020 18:38

How do you make an Easter garden?
