Sorry to hear she has died. Such a charismatic actress.

Charismatic is exactly right. I didn’t realise she was in her nineties, she was fabulous.

katew355 · 06/04/2020 16:59

Aw- that's sad. From natural causes I heard x

ExclamationPerfume · 06/04/2020 17:01

I used to love her in the Upper Hand. She was lovely.

Zofloramummy · 06/04/2020 17:01

That’s awful news, one of my childhood memories is watching her in the Bond movie on tv every Xmas, Easter etc. She was an icon.

SirVixofVixHall · 06/04/2020 17:02

That is very sad. I saw her once, out at the theatre. She was in her seventies then and still the most elegant and beautiful woman.

Alsohuman · 06/04/2020 17:04

Beautiful woman with such a sexy, purry voice. I had no idea she was as old as that.

ChicCroissant · 06/04/2020 17:05

I remember her from The Upper Hand as well, always seemed a fabulous lady!

Bluntness100 · 06/04/2020 17:07

Gosh I didn’t realise she was 94 . Very sad indeed, she was one of those actresses everyone liked.

Connie222 · 06/04/2020 17:08

Oh that is sad Sad

jenganinja · 06/04/2020 17:10

Yes very likeable and I also didn't realise she was 94. Older than the Queen! A real beauty at all ages as pp have said

Iconic!

bellabelly · 06/04/2020 17:22

She was so glamorous. And what a voice. RIP.

ArriettyJones · 06/04/2020 17:24

She was fabulous and a great role model of how to look great at 40+. RIP

WarmSausageTea · 06/04/2020 17:25

She was glorious, and has left a wonderful body of work. Didn’t she decline a damehood? (Not that it matters one way or the other.)

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 06/04/2020 17:40

She was in one of the Civil Service Am-Dram societies (she was a typist at the Home Office, I believe). One of my friends has a photo of her on stage in a Greek tragedy with one of our other actresses.

Even then they knew she was going to go a long way.

Quirrelsotherface · 06/04/2020 17:42

Loved her in the Upper Hand too - so classy and charismatic. Just pure star quality. Was truly sad to read this today.

Grabbner · 06/04/2020 17:44

Oh that’s sad. I loved her in the Avengers. She always got it right - the elegant side of sexy.

Rockbird · 06/04/2020 17:53

Very sad. Such an elegant, classy woman and great actress.

springydaff · 06/04/2020 18:40

I saw her in a film on Talking Pictures just the other day! I only knew it was her because of her voice, she was a very young woman in this film and I didn't recognise her.

Bless her, she has a lot to be proud of, a life well lived 💐
