Had my delivery slot this morning. Woke up to a text saying my orders cancelled! Apparently couldn't process my payment although I had sufficient funds in my bank!!! Anyone else had this happen? I can't call them because they're not open yet. I'm so anxious about going to the supermarket. I have asthma and my son has respiratory issues 😢 what do I do

Also I had put some craft stuff and free from Easter eggs in there for my son. Which obviously now I won't get. Which I'm really upset about too. He has allergies and it's really hard to get hold of an easter egg for him

I’ve just had this happen too.
I checked and I paid on my credit card... it’s at the stage where the funds have left my bank account but not ‘cleared’ on the card.
Really frustrated as checked the site and I should have been notified yday and been given the opportunity to use another payment method

Stet · 06/04/2020 06:47

Asda took the payment for my parents' shopping that I arranged the day before arrival, so if there was money going in to cover it after midnight then it might have been too late Sad

Morrison's food box? Ask neighbours? Get on FB and see who is helping out in your community? Local independent suppliers who are delivering instead (again, FB community pages are amazing for this).

Carrie7469 · 06/04/2020 06:48

I’m sorry you’re in this position. I’ve never had a problem with Asda. I don’t have any advice, just didn’t want to ignore. I hope you get it sorted. Best wishes to you and your son

I had this, turns out the address they had saved in my account was a previous address and so it didn't match the billing address that was attached to my payment card. I hadn't been to the shops in 2 weeks so it was a big shop too.
I ended up doing my shop in-store.

Fatted · 06/04/2020 06:53

My local Asda was back to normal for stock on Saturday. So you might no struggle to get what you need if you go in person.

The supermarkets are also very strict on social distancing in my experience.

Ineedwine1 · 06/04/2020 07:04

@stet maybe this is the issue as I had money go in over night. 😩 I thought they didn't take the money until delivery of goods. That's what usually happens. I'm so upset. I think I'm going to have to go in store, which I really really did not want to do

No, please don't go in store, it really isn't worth the risk for either of you. You both have respiratory issues, you can't go there!

I don't know what the solution is but please don't go.

Is there a support system/whatsapp/fb group in your road or area you could ask to do the shopping for you? Also try your local church - my dad's local church do his shopping and deliver his groceries for him.

PenguinsCantFly · 06/04/2020 07:52

So sorry this has happened!

But I agree with the pp about reaching out to your local community There will probably be someone who will happily go and get the basics for you.

Are there any fruit stalls/greengrocers/butchers/farm shops near you that are now delivering? The ones near me are very reasonable!

Also found this free from egg from Holland and Barratts..

It might not arrive by Easter Sunday...but with the days are blurring together you could just celebrate Easter when it arrives?

springydaff · 06/04/2020 07:58

Holland + Barrett shops are closed Penguins - and they're swamped with orders (I've just ordered something and they say it'll take weeks/month to arrive).

PenguinsCantFly · 06/04/2020 08:00

Oh that's a shame!

PenguinsCantFly · 06/04/2020 08:04

Moo Free have a stockist finder - you might be lucky and find a local retailer who delivers?

bushtailadventures · 06/04/2020 08:10

Asda always use to take their payment in the morning on delivery day, but for my delivery on Saturday they took it Friday night. I'm assuming it's so they can release slots if payment doesn't go through but I haven't seen any information about it on their website yet.

Please don't go to the supermarket, check facebook for local help/other delivery options. Our local wholesale supplier is now doing home delivery, as is the butcher and a greengrocer nearby. Hope you sort something out. Stay safe

Peppafrig · 06/04/2020 08:11

Yes they take the money in hold the night before so if your money going in was early morning and not midnight you wouldn't have had sufficient funds.

Troels · 06/04/2020 08:30

I was in Aldi friday they had a lot of free from eggs (we had them last year and they were nice) and pallets full of normal eggs from 75p to £7
Moo free eggs

middleager · 06/04/2020 08:46

Sorry to hear that. We are SI as I am poorly. We have an Asda delivery (booked 3 weeks ago) arriving this morning, so we have been lucky.

Please don't go to the store. Can you post on a Facebook group or contact Asda to explain your situation? Post on Twitter?

I found these. Pricey and not sure of lead times but look promising
