Bronchiolitis and fast breathing

Hi guys,
My 6 month old has been diagnosed with bronchiolitis (xray confirmed). The weird thing is his chest sounds completely clear and he doesn't wheeze when he breathes. He just breathes really fast which freaks me out! Has anyone had a baby with bronchiolitis who breathed super fast? How long did it last? I swear it's been 2 weeks now of super fast breathing.

My nephews were diagnosed with bronchiolitis when they were around 5-6. They would just generally breath fast with no other symptoms.

They used inhalers occasionally but generally they were fine. I lived with them for a while so I observed them quite a bit. They are teens now and seem to have just grown out of it.

My dd had bronchiolitis at that age. She was put on an inhaler in the hospital with ventolin for a couple of hours, but that was a long time ago and I can't remember what other treatment I had to give her.

It's a classic symptom, check how far in his chest is going when he breathes and phone for help, you need to get good medical advice on this and not rely on mumsnet.

@bonnieclydesdale I am currently at the doctos and went to the hospital the other day. They send me home. Even though his breathing is 73 breaths a minute. I am just asking if anyone has experienced very fast breathing with their babes. Not after medical advice. Thanks
