...to the things you really love, except for when you don't? My examples:

  • I love coffee...except when I think someone's likely to offer me instant. Then I'll ask for tea.
  • I love white wine...except when it's cold and wet. Then I want red.
  • I love swimming...except when the water's really cold, then you haven't a hope of getting me in.

Let's try to keep it light please!!

I don't like peanut butter but I'll gladly eat peanuts. Peanut butter is to strong.

I don't like sausages but I'll gladly eat sausage rolls and anything made with sausage meat.

I cannot get along with hash browns but I'll gladly eat fried potato.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 05/04/2020 22:19

I love yogurt (has to be smooth)

But I can not eat it in the morning. Same with bananas

I love milk but warm milk 🤢 unless in coffee or hot chocolate

RideaCockHorseOfCourse · 05/04/2020 22:24

Celery cooked up in a casserole is nice, but can't abide the 'perfumy' flavour when it's raw in a salad.
Love a strong cuppa. My friend once poured the milk into the cup first, threw in the teabag, then poured on the hot water, no, no, no!

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 05/04/2020 22:24

I can eat baked beans cold straight from the tin

Cold (not been heated up) on my plate no no not sure what happens from tin to plate but something does they are not the same

I’ve leant from MN I am far from alone

And beans that have been heated up then cool down are vile

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/04/2020 22:26

Peanut butter doesn't contain butter. It's just pureed peanuts with a bit of salt and possibly some oil.

I love tea, but I can't stand it too weak, too strong, made with too much milk or with sugar or sweetener. Would rather have nothing.

Weak coffee is an abomination.

I love oranges, satsumas, mandarins etc etc. Lemon and lime juice and zest in all sorts of things - great. Just can't somehow like grapefruit.

MsTSwift · 05/04/2020 22:31

Tea only if very hot earl grey with dash of milk and I can drink it on my own
Coffee only proper not coffee flavoured drink ie instant
Swimming only in summer and outdoors municipal pool no thanks

PrincessHoneysuckle · 05/04/2020 22:32

Bread but only if it's very soft, if it's even slightly stale I wont eat it

GetTheSprinkles · 05/04/2020 22:37

Meringues but only if chewy not if hard/dusty

TerrorWig · 05/04/2020 22:44

Could eat strawberries till I’m sick (and did on one very memorable occasion Blush) but I don’t like strawberry flavoured stuff.

Scrambled eggs are my favourite but only when I make them. No one else can do it right, so I’ll tend to get fried when out.

Peanut butter on toast but has to have the toast buttered. Too claggy otherwise. But yes, peanut butter doesn’t have butter in it Grin.

Cold beans from the tin....now that’s a delicacy I haven’t had in a while!

KitNCaboodle · 05/04/2020 22:52

Yes please to a runny dippy egg.
No thank you if the white isn’t done properly.

Yes please to a full English breakfast.
A definite no if the beans and scrambled eggs are touching.

Yes please to tuna and sweetcorn pasta.
Big fat no-no to a tuna steak.

Yes please to chicken breast.
Nope to wing or leg.

KitNCaboodle · 05/04/2020 22:52

And coffee - yum
Coffee cake - vom

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 05/04/2020 22:54

Nobody else does eggs right, full stop. I'll risk having hard-boiled eggs in a sandwich or salad, but no other eggs as I do them better. Sorry!

Tea outside the house is a big risk too. I make it just right, so do my daughter and my husband, and so (just about) does my mum. Commercial establishments don't.

CinderellasSecrets · 05/04/2020 23:01

Love strawberries - but anything strawberry flavoured is vile
Love coke - but only coke zero and only from a can that's been in the fridge
Love scrambled eggs - but they must not be 'sloppy' so I only eat them at home
Love bacon - but only if its crispy, squidgy fat makes me feel sick

Maxineputyourredshoeson · 05/04/2020 23:06

Love ice cold milk but only if it’s it’s from an unopened bottle, once it’s been opened and used no thanks.

I’ll only eat the medallion part of bacon and hate fat on any meat also hate chicken skin.

Love ham sandwiches but won’t eat the ham if it’s from a fresh cooked ham. I also don’t like any joint of meat that’s left to go cold.

Love potatoes but they have to be hot.

Hate my food touching apart from certain foods.

God, I’m fussier than I thought!

Giggorata · 05/04/2020 23:25

Love my tea but never ever with UHT milk
Nuts and chocolate, but dear god, never together.

Pieceofpurplesky · 06/04/2020 00:12

Sandwiches without butter. They don't hold together.
Hard strawberries - I like them just ripe, not over or under
Anything coffee flavoured, including coffe itself, except the tiramisu at my local
Italian

CrowleysBentley · 06/04/2020 04:04

Love eggs but only when they're mixed together, so scrambled or omelette. Hate separate white and yolk.

Love tea but only with a tiny drop of milk in it, any more than a tiny splash and it makes me feel sick.

HarrySnotter · 06/04/2020 07:16

Chocolate but can't stand chocolate cake.

Shoxfordian · 06/04/2020 07:26

I love meat but I hate messing about cutting it off a bone.

I love steak but only if its blue, preferably fillet

I like orange juice without bits

I only like incinerated streaky bacon

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 06/04/2020 07:28

Oh that's interesting @HarrySnotter - I quite like chocolate (though only really dark chocolate, find milk and white too sweet), and like chocolate cake if I make it, but I can't stand chocolate ice cream.

OP posts:
homemadecommunistrussia · 06/04/2020 07:30

Oh everything has to be just right, I am a pain in the arse!Grin

Malbecmama · 06/04/2020 07:30

I love beans on toast. However the whole meal is spoiled if the beans are poured on top of the toast. No pressure chef!

HarrySnotter · 06/04/2020 07:33

@GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal oh I can't stand chocolate ice cream either!

In fact I only like ice cream on its own, not with a pudding. Like apple pie or treacle sponge are both lovely but not with ice cream!

Chesterfuckingdrorrs · 06/04/2020 07:35

Cup of coffee-except if the milk is put in after the hot water

Scrambled eggs-except if they're all sloppy and under cooked.

Roast dinner-except if there's gravy over everything 🤮

ExpletiveDelighted · 06/04/2020 07:43

Jacket potato with grated cheese - but not if the cheese has been melted.
