I've always liked her and am really pleased about her shadow chancellor appointment. Anyone else? What do we think of the new appointments so far?

I was at college with her. This is literally the closest I've ever managed to get to a proper name drop. I'm delighted.

Congratulations ElizabethinherGermanGarden I think this is a cool name drop. First woman chancellor/shadow chancellor as there has never been one before. Smile

I've done a bit of work with her, and although I don't share her politics I think she's ace.

That's good to hear PaulinePetrovaPosey I remember when I first saw her being interviewed on the news, being surprised by how well she came across and how competent and capable she seemed. I think she's a really good pick.

I’d prefer that someone in the Shadow Chancellor role has experience of
working in industry and in the sectors that create the wealth that pays the taxes.

She sat on the Economic and Monetary affairs committee and she's highly educated, I reckon she'll be pretty competent
