Hi all, I'm just so curious to know how you all save up for something/anything you want or have had your eye on for some time i.e. new laptop, handbag or even a holiday.

Do you use credit cards? Loans or simply put some cash aside every month...

I budget for things like a new laptop, however I buy Tesco laptops for £300 and they have to last me for 5 years. If it's coming up to say 4 years, i'd put an amount aside every month knowing that soon I would need to replace my laptop.

Handbags I would buy if I could cashflow it, otherwise i'd make do with what I had.

Holidays, put a set aside every month.

I'd never use loans or credit cards for holidays or handbags. We try and save some money, not always easy and a new laptop would have to come out of that.
