Carpal tunnel syndrome

Posted on general health earlier but had no replies. Does anyone have this? Today I've been having piercing shooters in my right wrist. The zaps feel electric and take my breath away. My mum said it's carpal tunnel syndrome. The zaps can go up in to my thumb and my fingers tingle. I can't see how I'll sleep tonight. I've been looking at wrist splints I'll have to get one in the morning if I can and it's my Birthday tomorrow! Can anyone help/have any advice please.

A friend of mine rested her arm on ice packs, would that help you?

Yes - thyroid related. Running your arm under cold water helps. So does ibuprofen. Once things have calmed down with covid, ask your gp about having your thyroid levels tested.

I had it post partum and it was related to my thyroid. It wasn't very painful though, more tingly.

Physio recommended alternating between heat e.g resting on a hot water bottle and cold so ice as suggested by PP. I take prescription ibruprofen for mine so if you have some in/not allergic than try some of that as well
