DP's 'Purchase'-anyone else relate? *lighthearted*

Walked past DP whilst he was 'working' at the dinning table, and I noticed he quickly shut a browser and wouldn't look me in the eye. Immediate spidery senses!

After asking a few times, and him looking very sheepish he finally mutters ''Don't worry I cancelled the order''........

It then takes a few more minutes of him refusing to tell me what he purchased, then felt the need to cancel and he actually whispered ''A bow and arrow''........when I ask what for? It transpires he remembered he had too much wine the other evening.

A bow and bloody arrow! AND it was over £200!!

Luckily the money hasn't left the account. His only explanation for this random purchase thus far has been ''They look cool''.

Anyone else had to cancel random purchases?

That does sound pretty bad ass...

...Wanders off to see if the gardens long enough to become a temporary archery range.

Oldraver · 03/04/2020 19:38

OH made one a few years ago for DS.

It was frighteningly good yep next doors conservatory got it

Loyaultemelie · 03/04/2020 19:45

Ooh I want a bow and arrow now!

IsAnybodyListening · 03/04/2020 19:48

I have just asked him again, and he just said ''too much wine''.
Hmm. Maybe I'll get him one for his next birthday Smile a cheaper version though!

I won't be purchasing one. No garden anyway, but tried archery on a holiday and was absolutely hopeless. Ditto rifle shooting.

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 03/04/2020 19:50

Ah, so he had a little drunken wannabe Daryl Dixon moment? :o

Tashtegotoo · 03/04/2020 20:06

DS3 has compound bow and arrows. He did practice at home until our new neighbours thought we were trying to shoot their dog. We weren't, just hasn't realised the arrows went that far, thought they were in the shrubs in our garden.

Craftycorvid · 03/04/2020 20:11

Just enjoying the idea of your DP in full on survivalist mode Grin

Troels · 03/04/2020 20:28

Drunk online shopping is the craziest.

I used to shop after a 12 hour night shift, felt the same as being drunk and I used to get random parcels and wonder what I'd bought.

TerrorWig · 03/04/2020 20:30

DS3 age 8 was bought a bow and arrow set for Xmas. It is bloody lethal! We don’t even have a garden so have to be very careful in the park!

Weenurse · 03/04/2020 20:32

Does sound kind of cool though.

8Track · 03/04/2020 20:35

My parents were bought a bow and arrow set (from decathlon I believe) by an ex BF of mine. He thought it would be a fun Christmas game.

My dad is 81....

JofraArchersFastestBall · 03/04/2020 20:38

I went for a group archery lesson once. DH was worryingly good at it (I was absolutely terrible))

DixieFlatline · 03/04/2020 20:45

I just bought my first electric guitar in 15 years Blush

Oddly, our teen DC15 has framed Walking Dead pictures in his room, and they have been watching some of the earlier seasons. Coupled with WFH and possibly having a Mad Max moment mixed with wine. Ta-Da! Bow and Arrows! Honestly.

Neighbour's annoying "hits everything with sticks" small son has a bow and arrows. We live in hope that he will shoot their even more annoying yappy little fecker. Sorry, dog

ilovepixie · 03/04/2020 20:49

Ooh I want a bow and arrow now!!!

tinofbeans · 03/04/2020 20:52

Just mentioned it on another thread, but my DH has bought a glockenspiel. It arrived this morning. Tomorrow, I am pitching my tent in the garden and staying in it until coronavirus, and the fucking glockenspiel are all over.

IsAnybodyListening · 03/04/2020 20:53

My dh has just bought a thing to convert him mountain bike into a trainer. He made out he'd bought an exercise bike we could both use. Not impressed

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 03/04/2020 20:55

I want a bow and arrow! Grin

I’d let him buy it. Couldn’t have one in my house. DS would have the cat skewered in minutes.

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 03/04/2020 20:57

Was he also looking up squirrel stew recipes?

Hoppinggreen · 03/04/2020 20:58

DH,keeps buying TVs
He’s bought 3 since lockdown. He’s put 2 in the office and replaced DDs old one (which was fine)
He wants a treadmill next but I’ve said only if he clears out the garage so I’m pretty safe there

Windyatthebeach · 03/04/2020 20:59

Time for you to order some apples op... And first go is yours...

TwoZeroTwoZero · 03/04/2020 21:02

Ds did archery on his school residential trip a few months ago. He was very good by all accounts. I won't be buying him one though!
