I'm no Nicola fan. But her daily updates are clear and calm. She also thanked us in agriculture and the rest of the food supply chain. Cheers Nicola Wine

She did a really good interview on an Edinburgh / Fife radio station this morning (Forth One). I don’t like her politics but I do like her and her style of leadership. She comes across very well, make a nice change from Boris!

WickedlyPetite · 03/04/2020 13:06

I watched her update earlier today, non-waffly and quite forthright in saying Scotland won't have reached their peak in one week. I liked it.

TreacherousPissFlap · 03/04/2020 13:18

One thing this crisis has done is show many of our politicians in a completely different light.
As PP's have said Nicola Sturgeon has come across really well, as has Matt Hancock.

TheTiaraManager · 03/04/2020 13:32

I've never voted SNP and have always been against independence. However I've gained a lot of respect for Nicola. She is a breath leader at this time & has outshone Boris & many other senior politicians by miles,

LittleCandle · 03/04/2020 13:34

Nicola has suffered for years because she is a woman and SNP. People judged her for that alone. She has always been a very able MSP and deserves huge kudos. I have a lot of respect for her and she tells it like it is. And when you see the arsehole in No 10, she shines even more brightly.

Gilead · 03/04/2020 13:35

Matt Hancock has not come across well. He's out of isolation early. He said last night 'some nurses have died'. Some nurses, some mothers daughters, partners. Didn't mention their families. Has consistently lied and fudged about testing and PPE. Angry

arewethereyetmum78 · 03/04/2020 13:42

I've never voted SNP and have always been totally against independence. Used to roll my eyes and turn tv off when Nicola Sturgeon came on. But even I have to admit I have gained a new found respect for her these last few weeks. Never thought I see the day where I looked forward to her calm, factual press conferences. She's like a sea of calm compared to the bungles in Downing Street. Keep up the good work Nicola!

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 03/04/2020 13:47

Sorry, but she was an utterly useless MSP! (I lived in Pollokshields East). I think she works far better as First Minister, as she very clearly didn't give two hoots about constituency matters.

She is doing well currently. I have grave reservations about much of her politics, but at least she is a calm and stabilising presence, and we need that at the moment.

Chickenpie9 · 03/04/2020 13:59

I’m not a fan of independence or the SNP but I do trust her with this so far she’s done a good job .

mig58 · 03/04/2020 14:24

Don't know her personally. Cannot stand what she represents in Scotland. Our health service, child poverty and education issues beggar belief. Standing at a podium reading a script does not make her a good leader. The truly terrible record her party has in government has done Scotland no favours.

MorrisZapp · 03/04/2020 14:30

She's superb. Proud of her as a leader and as a human being. I'll never vote for her because I don't support indy, but I'm so glad that when the music stopped, it was her. Cheers Nic, hope you get a nice break once all this is over with doll.

MowCopCastle · 03/04/2020 18:22

Sturgeon has been very clear and direct.

Hancock is better than the others in his party (Raab, Gove, Sharma) but that's hardly a ringing endorsement.

Andahelterskelterroundmylittle · 03/04/2020 18:28

Had gone right off Nicola after another tax rise and lies about teacher wages during the Strike .... BUT she couldn't be doing any more ..she's fab just now .

Here. Here!

Elieza · 03/04/2020 18:48

Yup, I trust her. Better than Boris or trump for sure.

icebearforpresident · 03/04/2020 18:50

She’s been doing great the last few weeks but I will never vote for her party.
