My 10 year old has ‘rapidly progressing myopia’. Her last pair of glasses was November. Since then she has been seen by a university clinic with a view to having a contact lens trial - however, she didn’t manage to learn to put them in before social distancing came in, and hadn’t got to a point where she was ready for them.
The clinic is currently closed.
She really cannot see well through her current glasses. Am I right to be worried or is this just not a big problem? She’s clearly finding it very uncomfortable and annoying, but will it do harm in the long term. So far I haven’t been able to speak to any opticians.
Thanks for any advice.

I am not a medically trained person but your eyes are "developed" by age 7 in terms of how well they work together, whether you can get a squint etc.

I think headaches will be her biggest problem.

I would be tempted to call round your opticians for a phone appointment, someone is likely to be providing emergency care and talk about your daughter and her case.

I agree with @GloGirl. A friend of mine is an independent optician (small number of shops) and is basically ‘on call’ for emergencies. For example yesterday he went into for broken glasses and an eye infection yesterday
