On the Saturday before lockdown I ordered my daughter a bike in store at Halfords.
I asked for it to be delivered to my house. They said they wasn’t an option. I asked what would happen if the store would close and she said that wouldn’t happen.
Obviously on the Monday we went in to lockdown so I called up Halfords customer service. Told my local store would be open on Wednesday and I would be able to collect my bike.
On Tuesday I called again to see if I could cancel the bike order and reorder it to avoid unnecessary travel and was told I could only cancel it and/or get a refund from the store I purchased at.
On Wednesday I called my local store which went straight to answer phone. They were not one of the stores chosen to remain open. So my bike wouldn’t be delivered there. And I couldn’t get a refund so I can buy a new bike.
I know there is bigger problems in the world but I’ve paid for this bike which is missing somewhere and I can’t afford another one for DD’s birthday. I’ve already had to cancel her party. Any ideas or similar situations?
