Soluble paracetamol.....

What on earth is in it?!Envy

DH bought some as we had ran out and usual tablets were out of stock everywhere. Just tried to take some and my god they're vile, think I've only managed 2 mouthfuls!

Do they work because you have to try really hard not to vomit which then distracts you from the original pain? Bleurgh....I hope the shops have tablets back in stock tomorrow.

The trick is to dissolve them in the smallest amount of water and then down it like a shot. There shouldn’t be enough water for multiple mouthfuls

Likethebattle · 02/04/2020 01:26

Yep you only use a mouthful of water. My dad used to drink soluble aspirin like it was juice, he gave. E done once and had hand filled a tall glass blergh!

SallyLovesCheese · 02/04/2020 01:28

I use a full glass and just swallow without breathing until the glass is empty. Then you only get one taste of the solution.

If they have aspartame in, they are disgusting

safariboot · 02/04/2020 01:30

Paracetamol is in it. The stuff tastes nasty.

I reckon I'd shove it in something sweet and unhealthy. And still grimace drinking it.

purpleme12 · 02/04/2020 01:32

No you just dissolve them in squash.
I can't drink them in water they would taste horrible then!
You just have a little drink so you don't have to drink loads, dissolve it in there it's ok then.

Chesterfuckingdrorrs · 02/04/2020 01:35

I'll try it with just a tiny bit water next time. I had to go brush my teeth then gulp it down.

I wrongly assumed it would have a slightly sweet taste but that is just nasty 🤢

Oh I quite like it Blush
Using it as couldn't get anything else last week, reminds me of bitters and tonic!

TheFutureMrsB · 02/04/2020 01:43

I quite like the taste too Blush

implantsandaDyson · 02/04/2020 07:58

Dissolve them in a little bit of warm water, my Nana started every day with fizzy tablets and a cigarette, we were well versed in the optimum way of taking them Grin

LIZS · 02/04/2020 08:05

Don't you put in a glass of water and drink?

LooksBetterWithAFilter · 02/04/2020 08:08

I don’t mind them but agree tiniest bit of water. Took dd ages to learn to swallow tablets so we used these for ages used to put it in a shot glass with as little
Water as it would dissolve in and get her to knock it back quick.

trumpisaflump · 02/04/2020 08:15

They have huge amounts of sodium in them to allow them to dissolve. So they taste like salt 🤮

Chemenger · 02/04/2020 08:17

I find paracetamol tastes horrible in any form, I always have a vile aftertaste, even from tablets.

TheShoesa · 02/04/2020 08:25

I was once told by a nurse I was visiting as part of my job, that the best thing to do for a painfully sore throat was to gargle with soluble paracetamol. It works for me.

Chesterfuckingdrorrs · 02/04/2020 13:18

This mornings ones were slightly better. Still vile but the smallest amount of water and a chased down with plain water definitely helped.
