Pain. . . Heart?

For some time. Perhaps months now, I am getting sporadic pain. It's not intense, just more like noticeably uncomfortable and unpleasant, but significant enough that I notice immediately. It feels like "niggling" and is always in my chest, slightly to the right where I think my heart is.

Because it comes and goes, doesn't last particularly long and in all honesty scares the shit out of me... I've ignored.

I've had corona pretty bad these past ten days and as i lay here now feeling this again, I'm aware of my health more than ever.

I am generally fit and well, no medications or health issues but I am fat/obese. 5'2ish and 15.7st. So a high bmi.

I have 3 young kids, twins that are 5 and a 10 year old. I'm terrified and have battled my weight all my life.

I can't see a GP right now, understandably.

3years ago I had a heart scan thingy, very quick, part of a charity event. All was fine.

Now convinced I'm going to die.

Your heart is on the left.

You need to see a GP.

please call your GP; it might be nothing - or indigestion, but it could be more serious. I was diagnosed with angina last year after ignoring a niggling chest pain - until it got so bad I was in hospital for 5 days, and then a few weeks later another 5 days as it had become worse.

Inflammation of the ribs possibly.

You have unexplained chest pain, and that is not something to be ignored. You need to seek medical advice asap.

First, any suspicion of heart issues should be checked out.
But, I had this for ages, pain just where the heart was. Got rushed to A&E when it got really bad. Was checked out thoroughly, all fine with heart. Turns out it was something called costochronditis - inflammation of the ligaments around the ribcage. It is most common in women (pressure of breasts + slouching = tight back muscles = pressure on front ribcage), a common cause of suspected heart issues in women. Google it. I am overweight with big boobs and tall so I do slouch more than I should. I am told in UK we treat it just with painkillers (my GP did). Google told me that in Oz & NZ they treat it with physio so I did lots of pulling shoulder blades together etc, brought a ‘backpod’ on ebay - a thing you lie on to soften tense back muscles and open front rib cage - pain was gone. It has come back since I stopped the physio exercises so need to get back on it there. Anyway, it is hardly mentioned anywhere so wanted to let you know it could be muscular, but def get it checked first but if trying physio helps then all good Smile

Sorry, come back to update.

GP called me back this morning and seemed sure it wasn't heart related. Although he did keep asking me what I thought it was which didn't feel great 🤔

Said i should give it a few more weeks and then call back if persistent.

He asked if it worsens with excursion but honestly i rarely do so wouldnt know! But just got v stressed and yelled at husband and now the ache/pain is back.
