We played Monopoly the other night (mum, dad and 12YO son) and that went OK.

It's been a while since we played anything else though - am keen to know what you and your tweens enjoy?!

We’re not great with board games but a pack of cards can bring a lot of fun!

boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/178900/codenames

This is our favourite game at the mo, 4 players is best but it also works with 2 or 3.

We are quite enjoying Pandemic right now 😳
Carcassonne (played without "farmers" with younger kids)

burblish · 01/04/2020 18:25

Forbidden Island is great, as it’s a cooperative game.

ThreeLeggedCat · 01/04/2020 18:45

King Domino
Settlers of Catan
Ticket to Ride
Karuba
Exploding Kittens

TinklyLittleLaugh · 01/04/2020 18:50

Pandemic

It’s actually a really good team game; family versus the board.

APurpleSquirrel · 01/04/2020 18:53

Munchkin
Dixit
Balderdash

aleC4 · 01/04/2020 18:53

Ticket to ride and Scotland Yard are very popular with my 12 and 15 year olds.
Also qwirkle.

parrotonmyshoulder · 01/04/2020 18:56

Harry Potter Battle for Hogwarts.
Best game ever.
Also pandemic, forbidden Island

FourEyesGood · 01/04/2020 19:00

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 01/04/2020 19:13

Cluedo. (We have Harry Potter Cluedo as well, which adds an extra dimension).

BasilDiffuser · 01/04/2020 20:08

We’ve got pandemic which we love but haven’t felt like playing. We played Scotland Yard on Saturday. That was quite good.

Duchessofblandings · 01/04/2020 20:10

Risk will keep you going ...... for at least 3 months 😴

Crikey0000 · 01/04/2020 20:10

Labyrinth, we love it. You can play in several different ways to make it easier or harder depending on the kids ages. Also dobble is very addictive..

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 01/04/2020 20:16

We always enjoy Labyrinth. Exploding Kittens is a good giggle, as is Hotel Tycoon. I impulse-bought a cheap game called Man Bites Dog a couple of years back that involves making funny newspaper headlines and has provided hours of entertainment.

ImNotWhoYouThinkIam · 01/04/2020 20:19

Second Harry Potter Battle for Howarts. Although we haven't played it since my ex left. Too many memories for me right now.

Cluedo (we have regular, Harry Potter and Dr Who)
Harry Potter headbandz
Sorry (we printed a 'board' off of the computer and use an app called 'virtual sorry deck')
Rubiks Race
Scrabble (we have the Harry Potter one)

We play more card than board games.
Current favs are
Uno
Dos
Whot (the Harry Potter version natch)
Monopoly Deal
Rubiks Match

For online games we use AirConsole. We've had hours of fun from that. And at the moment it's completely free.

BrieAndChilli · 01/04/2020 20:32

Faves here at the moment are
Risk Europe
Pandemic
Exploding kittens
Banana grams
Countdown
The London board game
Trivial pursuit family edition
Trump cards
Split second

H1978 · 01/04/2020 20:38

Articulate or charades are good fun
We also have a game called payday I got from a charity shop but I have seen it in WHSmith great family board game

ilovespinach · 01/04/2020 21:40

Rummikub is a favourite here....Also good old fashioned Scrabble

JMG1234 · 01/04/2020 21:49

Another vote for Ticket to Ride. Not too long and one game I really enjoy playing as an adult.

BikeRunSki · 01/04/2020 21:52

YY to Ticket to Ride
We’ve got Europe, but kids are campaigning for other locations.

TacoLover · 01/04/2020 21:55

If you want educational:

Cyber Crisis is great, teaches all about online safety. I bought it on a whim and my 'hacking is sick' kids loved it.
