Royal Mail click and drop

I've paid for postage using click and drop online, for a small parcel. It's less than 1kg, and under the size measurements. Can I just drop it in the postbox, or do I need to take it to a post office? Thank you

I use click and drop. With letters I'd always pop in a postbox but with parcels it's better to take into the post office, they'll scan the barcode and give you a receipt and take the parcel. I hope this helps.

That way you have proof of postage.

Thank you so much for your reply.

I was hoping to avoid people just now!🙈 it's just two books, and I've selected up to £20 compensation. Does that make any difference?

Will they fit in the postbox? And is it just a standard parcel or does it need a signature? If you paid for signed for you always have to take into the post office. Where the barcode is there's a long number above it. That's your tracking number. Royal Mail will have emailed with your purchase details so that should be enough for proof of postage. Just keep a note of the number above the barcode if you feel comfortable putting it in the post box. I've been using this service for ages and never had any problems. Good luck.

Yes I'm pretty sure they will fit in the postbox.

I paid for £2.95 second class, not signed for or tracked.

Yes I have purchase details in an email. I think I'll chance it. If they go missing I can replace them no problem.

Just trying to do my bit for keeping my distance these days.

Thank you for your help.

No problem at all. You should be fine.
