Anyone else absolutely convinced they'll win the lottery one day?

And I mean like the Euromillions jackpot.

I know the odds are 1:114million but any time I buy a ticket (not that often) I'm so utterly convinced I'm going to win that I spend the night before looking at mega mansions on Rightmove 😂

Just me that's a saddo? Dare to dream!

Yes I have it all planned in my head what I'm going to do if I ever win the lottery or premium bonds!

Animum2 · 24/05/2020 09:54

My biggest win on the lottery was £1,995 and that was with 5 numbers back in 2014

The following week anyone winning with 5 numbers only won £430

Just depends on how many people win, the less the better

SunbathingDragon · 24/05/2020 09:55

Yes, me. After all, some awful things have happened in my life which apparently have similar odds so I figure it’s only fair to balance it out with the good.

SneakersandSocks · 24/05/2020 10:26

I only half believe, it’s a nice daydream!
My dh and I have already planned what we would do with the money.
This might sound silly, but I don’t think I would actually like to win millions, I think having that amount of money comes with consequences. I’d be happy with £300,000. Pay off our mortgage, get a new car, go on holiday, savings for our dc, treat the family to a few bits.
In the last 2 months , I’ve matched 3 numbers twice on the 10k a month one. Only won £20 each time though.

The very first UK lottery I had 3 of the 6 numbers. I thought I was going to win there and then. It was like I was having an out of body experience. I got a tenner.

3,5,22 tenner

I wish. I know it's practically impossible. Dh has a dd set up. When I occasionally play for a rollover, I never win.

didireallysaythat · 24/05/2020 14:51

I've never bought a ticket but in lock down dream world I've started thinking about what I need to do to make my life nicer and I think cash wouldn't hurt.

How much is a ticket ? Smile

CocoCorona · 24/05/2020 15:00

I daydream too. I actually daydream how I find out and keep calm and tell my dh, then we’re calm and call the national lottery people who confirm and send someone around our house to guide us..then I get the money and buy a house, car, buy an ice cream shop, put some in the bank and divide the rest between my kids for when they’re adults.

I also throw a substantial amount of money at my low and NC siblings (who are rich and look down their noses at us) with a note telling them to take it with them to their graves, and then disappear into pure bliss with my beautiful little family.

Reminds me I haven’t checked last nights numbers! Will go check now! 😉

I think the dreaming helps me to hold onto my sanity sometimes. I try not to gamble, though as I’m broke and know its a waste of money. Things have got really bad if I buy a ticket.

I’d like to buy a house and know that I could afford to have a wee job where it doesn’t matter that I am very poorly and cannot work loads.

RoseMartha · 20/11/2020 08:53

Yes lol.
The most I have ever won is a tenner though.

Chamberlai · 20/11/2020 09:03

Oh God, yes.

I sometimes role play the phone call I'll make to my line manager. 'There's been a change in my personal circumstances which means I no longer have to work for a living...' GrinConfused

Chambored · 07/01/2021 14:34

Yes me!
I’m currently justifying my lottery spending as having taken over from my pub spending!
I also have numerous ‘lottery’ houses bookmarked that are on my shopping list!

Icenii · 07/01/2021 14:36

I am actually convinced I will win. No joking.

GypsyLee · 07/01/2021 14:36

My dh is convinced he will, one day.
He's never bought a ticket, but says one day he will and he'll win.
I told him to make that one day soon. Grin

FelineFlick · 01/02/2021 12:36

After reading The Secret about 10 years ago I remember buying the huge lottery - think it was euro? - and spent the days leading to it - about four - acting like I'd win it. I didn't

Since then I'm a little more realistic
