If so, what brand manuka honey did you use and what difference(s) did you see in your skin?

Wouldn't it make you rather, er, orange?

You go first hen.

Don’t put turmeric on your face 😱😱 getting it off white plates can’t be down without bleach I imagine it on a face god no!

What you want for your face is a decent face cream

SmoothAvocado · 31/03/2020 20:36

It's been done in India, etc for centuries so I'm not suggesting something very radical and novel lol

Well don't put it on and go in the garden on a sunny day. The wasps will love it

mindutopia · 31/03/2020 20:46

Why are you wanting to use them?

If it’s to reduce inflammation and redness, use porridge oats. Blitz to fine powder, put a spoonful in some warm water to make a thick paste, apply to face for 5 minutes, then rinse off. It’s wonderful.

I suspect unless you also have a dark complexion, turmeric may have unfortunate side effects and you may come out looking a bit jaundiced. And manuka honey is very expensive. You could probably get some nice high end face cream for the same price.

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes · 31/03/2020 20:46

I certainly wouldn’t be wasting honey atm - I rather spread it on my toast!

HollowTalk · 31/03/2020 20:48

I had a skin problem and my doctor prescribed manuka honey - it was the most soothing thing I've ever had on my skin.

CloudyVanilla · 31/03/2020 20:48

What's your skin concern OP? Perhaps we could recommend some products :) are you looking in particular for natural stuff?

VivienLeighsHandbag · 31/03/2020 20:49

Try Vicco turmeric cream - you can get it your local world food or Indian supermarket

CloudyVanilla · 31/03/2020 20:53

So was just googling the benefits of turmeric, it sounds great!

Rather than honey though if you are looking for a mask type thing, maybe it would be better to mix it with something a bit more spreadable? I've recently been using coconut oil on my skin - it's hit and miss based on online reviews for skin but for me it works wonders. It's also antiinflmmatory and antimicrobial so might work well to further enhance the benefits of turmeric?

I have some in the cupboard, I'm so curious to try it but I'm white as a sheel so very wary of turning yellow Grin

Devlesko · 31/03/2020 21:10

Yes, I use coconut oil and turmeric.
However, last night mixed it a bit strong and look like an oompa loompa now. Good job I can't go out.
I'm 53 quite wrinkly and a sunken eye, just the one Grin
It works wonders, I can recommend, but go easy on the tumeric.

Devlesko · 31/03/2020 21:13

Just read that back, God I sound like a catch.
OP, it does work and if you also drink lots of water it can take years off, and your skin feels lovely. I haven't tried Honey as personally couldn't cope with the stickiness

Bluntness100 · 31/03/2020 21:20

Op what problem are you trying to solve, do you have Acne.? I’d recommend seeing your gp rather than slap this stuff on and possibly irritate, infect and make it worse.

alltoomuchrightnow · 31/03/2020 21:34

I went through a phase of putting the highest grade manuka on my face every night for months. It did nothing, and I just woke up with sticky hair

yesyesdear · 31/03/2020 21:55

Devlesko 😂😂

SmoothAvocado · 31/03/2020 21:59

Thanks for the replies so far.

My main issues are uneven skin tone (dark patches of skin around the mouth generally and hyperpigmentation (dark red, brown) from acne marks left years ago on cheeks and some mild skin dryness.
