What can't you own?

It struck me today, I can't own a tart burner/oil burner because I break them. Every single one I've ever had I've dropped or kicked or accidentally smashed.

The same goes for sunglasses. I just can't safely own a pair!

Matching underwear sets. Usually only the bra OR the knickers will be satisfactory and the other part ends up at the bottom of the drawer and then in the bin.

Katinski · 31/03/2020 14:37

My cat! I feed and water him,pay his vets bills, provide him with luxury accommodation, but....
Nah, he definitely owns meGrin

DW and I have black thumbs iyswim. She got a bonsai for Christmas, and it's already dead.

Plants and umbrellas

Tigger001 · 31/03/2020 22:23

Plants...plants of any sort, indoor or outdoor. They just die.

We even killed a cactus!!! We just dont bother now.

Cadbury's Chocolate Spread
😭

Megan2018 · 31/03/2020 22:42

Yes @PenguinsOnParade I same the same with plants. My orchids thrive, everything else dies. Weird.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 31/03/2020 22:46

Chocolate mysteriously disappears from my hands whenever I buy it.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 31/03/2020 22:50

Plants.
Expensive glasses or crockery.

AllForAnEasyLife · 31/03/2020 22:54

Indoor plants - they die within a week

Saracen · 31/03/2020 23:43

White clothing. I am laundry impaired.

Last summer my kid got the bright idea of tie-dyeing all the now-grey towels to brighter colours, so that was good. Might do the same with my grey knickers.

Elieza · 01/04/2020 00:00

Fizzy drinks. I just rent them on a temporary basis, as they are on one end and straight out the other....

Tillygetsit · 01/04/2020 02:35

A goat. I really want one but the dogs would hate it, our garden probably isnt big enough and the paperwork to get one is ridiculous. Still want one though.

CoffeeRunner · 01/04/2020 02:39

Plants. Either houseplants or planted in the garden. Wherever they are I manage to kill them.

Jewellery - always lose it, never to be found again. Earrings, necklaces, rings anything. Nothing expensive (thankfully) but god knows why that always happens!

LightDrizzle · 01/04/2020 02:49

Nice umbrellas
Hats, I do, but I shouldn’t, and DH and I have spent quite a bit of money retrieving them from places when I’ve left them.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 01/04/2020 02:59

Butter dishes. I keep dropping them. Or leaving them on the counter and the dog jumps up to get them and they smash.

I use those plastic take away tubs now and he still gets them every now and again. Why don’t I learn?? Grin

suziesnowflake · 01/04/2020 03:48

Clothes pegs and socks vanish, I've got one pair of socks which never get washed and are either on my feet or on my bedside table. I rarely wear them though.

Dowser · 01/04/2020 05:35

Reusable water bottles. Forever dropping them or leaving them. The metal ones, that haven’t been left behind are all scuffed and scraped, like I’ve had a tantrum and flung them into a wall.

alwayscrashinginthesamecar1 · 01/04/2020 05:40

Kindles. I’ve dropped two in the bath and one in the pool. Now I have a waterproof one which is holding up well so far! Oh god I’ve doomed it now!
