Anyone else finding the empty streets unnerving/frightening?

DH and I usually go out for our half hourish of exercise (a walk, locally) when he finishes wfh, between 6pm and 7pm daily. As the lockdown has bedded in and the streets have got quieter, it's become a bit unnerving out there. We live in a large city but we often see nobody at all, and the ones we do see often have their faces covered with masks/scarves - we've even seen the odd balaclava. There are very few cars around and in our suburb we've not seen one police officer/car. And if course the shops are mainly closed. We've also been looking at the live traffic cams in our city centre and it looks even eerier there.

I'm not saying we don't feel safe exactly, just that I've realised that safety in numbers is yet another thing I took for granted in the Before Times. I'm constantly on edge when we're out - if someone wanted to commit a crime, the fact that there's nobody about might make it easier for them to do so. It's not so bad in the daytime but towards the evening it feels worse. Hopefully the lighter evenings will help.

Anyone else noticed this?

Goats have invaded Llandudno and are eating people's gardens.

I would prefer them to be emptier. I don’t like turning a corner and not knowing if I’m going to pass too close to someone.

Yes! I loved the video of the wild goats invading Llandudno Grin

We are in a village - it's quiet anyway, less traffic but quite a few people out walking dogs, going for their daily walk or cycle.

Haven't heard any family rows here so hopefully people are doing okay.

I have noticed four reports in the national media of women killed by partners or who families dead with no-one else being sought in connection with their death though Sad

There's also a lovely video of a wild boar with her little stripey piglets in Bergamo.

Oh I love it. It feels magical. Like the world is just for me. I leave my phone and everything at home. Just me. I savour the silence. I haven't felt this free in a long time. But I have 3 small kids and moments of quiet are rare.

I used to like a night time bike ride, so last night I took one.. Big mistake, big, huge. Eerie as fuck and even my mum who is so relaxed and chill it hurts, asked me not to.

Everyone is here!!!
Normally I can run and only have to embarrass myself infront of a few people.
Today (not been out in 2 weeks because my oldest had a cough), there were people everywhere. Granted not many cars, but couples and families everywhere.
