Ridiculous injury - what do I do?

I've sat down to tidy DD's toys away this evening and didn't see that her dolly's wooden cot was also in the toy area. I've sat down really quickly on the edge and cut myself in three places, pretty much on my clitoris (and burst the skin open) and either side, too.

The fucking pain is unbearable. There's three small gashes.

I did this two hours ago and it's still agony, FFS.

How horrible for you, hope you're feeling more comfortable this morning. After an interesting cut during childbirth/forceps etc midwife recommended getting sanitary lowels damp and bunging in the freezer.

They helped enormously with the swelling and pain. They really transformed my pain coupled with painkillers too. Good luck

Eek. How are you this morning OP?

All good advice here

  • clean, protected
  • painkiller/anti-inflammatory
  • cold compress of some form to help reduce inflammation

I’d only seek medical care if you think needs stitching or it might be infected.

Roomba · 31/03/2020 08:37

tore mine giving birth. The stitches without anaesthetic were horrendous

^^

Never in my life have I been so glad I had 2 c sections! Grin

OP, hope it is feeling less sore this morning?

Roomba I won’t lie it was brutal. The poor midwife said “I’m just going to get a doctor in” with barely concealed concern. Unfortunately it had to be stitched quickly as I was bleeding heavily. But it was done quickly and efficiently, and I think I was very lucky with the quality of the repair considering! OP I hope you’re ok. The pain and swelling for the first 48 hours was something else, but it really did heal well.

Sorry, busy morning with DD and work.

Feeling much better, still swollen and sore but two of the gashes have healed up loads. It's only the deeper one which is still sore and open.

Lots of lovely information on my fanjo for you all! Blush
