Has anyone been to their GP since lockdown / social distancing started?

Just wondering if they are wearing masks / gloves etc when seeing patients now? Obv they can't do the 2 mtr thing if they need to examine a patient.

I need to ring my dr to make an appt (not Covid related). But I'm really worried they could potentially be infected as I need examining.

It depends. Our Drs only have a limited supply and are saving them for the most risky appointments they may have to do so are hardly seeing any patients face to face. They are mostly doing telephone consultations, video consultations or diagnosing with photographs.

Our GP closed weeks ago- no face to face appointments.

I'm working in A&E seeing non COVID patients (usual sprained ankles etc), we are wearing PPE for all patients. Unfortunately too many patients have lied about not having symptoms "to be seen quicker" and also patients (and us) can shed the virus without symptoms

Most GPs are doing phone consults now before they’ll agree to see you in person.

Took my little boy for jabs - yes they had gloves and masks on. We kept a 2mtr distance for the most part.

I've had a phone appointment, but they're triaging everyone first to find out if they need to go in

I took my DS for immunisations today. Surgery locked up and have to buzz to get in. Receptionist yelled to use hand gel and asked if we had a temp. Nurse doing the injections wore a mask and gloves and washed her hands before putting on gloves.

Haven't been but family member GP has been wearing gloves and a mask for all appointments. Most are on the phone however (he doesn't wear a mask for these 😉)

ClientQueen · 30/03/2020 22:42

Yes, they had gloves, mask and apron on and I had to wear a mask and gloves too

No I haven’t needed to but I do know our gp started only doing telephone appointments weeks ago, you can not go to the surgery to see a doctor
