So when you’ve gone to supermarket, have you been able to get all you need for a weeks meals etc ?
As everything been available?

The best shop I did was at M&S they seemed to be well stocked. Although more pricey than my usual Sainsburys shop, I got it in one shop.
The shelves in my Sainsburys which is quite a large one, literally most off the things are gone or shelves are empty.

How’s your shopping experience? And what shop ?

Not been out for a couple of weeks myself is there a restriction on how many family members can go in together?

DaphneFanshaw · 30/03/2020 21:42

Yes🏊‍♀️, we even got loo roll and hand soap yesterday.

Itstheprinciple · 30/03/2020 21:54

Fine in our Morrisons today, except for pasta really. And all very civilised, walked straight in, everyone very respectful of personal space.

Went to Aldi Sunday lunch time ready for a long wait outside and not getting much....was plenty surprise Only waited outside for 10 minutes, all shelves were fully stocked and managed to get enough for family of 4, 3 meals a day for the week...so will definitely be going their again next week.

Yes did asda as had a return to do. I norm shop tesco but thought I'd save doing 2 shops.
Forgot butter and dd last night took a bite out of every piece of fruit in the bowl and lovingly put it back so needed fruit. Ran to tesco today and was well stocked.

MARMITEcheese2020 · 30/03/2020 22:20

@H1978
Tesco is 1 person

Shmithecat2 · 30/03/2020 22:21

Yep. Went to a Tesco Extra. The only thing I couldn't get was self raising flour.

H1978 · 30/03/2020 22:34

@ MARMITEcheese2020 thanks still in self isolation for another 10 days and have delivery slots for the next three weeks but may need to go out to get extra shopping for DM and DF

champagneplanet · 30/03/2020 22:36

Went to a big Tesco just before 9am today, got a big shop which i'm hoping will last me the best part of two weeks bar a top up of fresh milk, bread and more fruit.

They were well stocked apart from toilet roll and kitchen roll. They even had some pasta, uht milk and tins of tomatoes and baked beans, etc. Not seen any of those for a while!

There was also no queue to get in, hand sanitiser and wipes for the trolleys and the queue to pay was very well organised. I was quite anxious about going as I was worried I wouldn't get what I needed and have to start traipsing around other shops but I was pleasantly surprised.

I did a shop for dd’s isolating household today - no pasta, no rice, no flour, no sugar - everything else was fine (even paracetamol & loo roll!). Loads of fruit & veg thankfully. That was Lidl.

PickAChew · 30/03/2020 23:02

No, but I never did before CV, either. My fridge is packed to the gils, today but will be at the point of me worrying about what if we end up on 2 week's isolation by Thursday and I'll already have needed to either pop to the Coop or gamble some of the bread flour I have left in the breadmaker, by then.

And I agree that M&S is best for the fresh food - lots of stock and no limits. They haven't got their full range, by any means, but enough stock to ensure we're not eating a meal a day of lentil dust soup and that the boys' autistic limited diets are catered for.

Tillygetsit · 31/03/2020 05:26

Lidl. Got e everything (including dry pasta and loo rolls) apart from SR flour and bread flour. Was really impressed.

YDYtrue · 31/03/2020 08:10

I wasn’t able to get bread, bread flour, self raising flour, weetabix, stock cubes, chicken, yoghurt, eggs, frozen veg, onions or satsumas in my usual shop.

I was able to get most of that apart from chicken, bread flour and self raising flour by going to another shop.

I couldn’t get enough fruit, vegetables, bread or milk to last us a full week as we are a large family. We’re also unable to eat as many vegetarian meals as we usually do due to the limits on the amount of veg you’re allowed to buy. That’s partly my own fault though as I should have considered that and got more when I went to the second shop instead of only getting the stuff I hadn’t been able to get in the first.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 31/03/2020 08:20

Yes, I've always managed to get everything I need. We are a family of 2 so I don't buy much though. I bought one big pack of 24 toilet rolls at the beginning of it all as they were the only ones that Asda had left, so they will last us about 2 months!

Marmite27 · 31/03/2020 09:53

@Bunnylady54 - Very impressed with Aldi & may well stick to doing my big shop there after all this is over. DH prefers Asda yogurts & we both really like Asda curries but apart from that, Aldi all the way!

I could have written this myself. We used to drive to the ‘big’ Asda, but will be using the closer Aldi and ‘little’ Asda that’s in the village.

Zisforstripyoss · 31/03/2020 18:51

Yes, in Asda. Only thing I can't find anywhere is a specific non dairy milk and yeast.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 31/03/2020 19:50

I can’t get an Ocado delivery despite being an anytime smart pass holder so I have been walking to our local co op. They have reduced the amount you can buy again so now it is two pieces to of milk and one loaf per shop ..... certainly not lasting my family a week!
