Never heard so many sirens

I’m in Hertfordshire. A town which is usually busy but obviously very quiet now.

It seems that there are so many police and fire sirens going off throughout the day.

Is it just where I am or is anyone noticing a lot more than usual?

I'm in sw London and have heard less over the past week or so.

We live near a hospital and commented yesterday that we'd been hearing far fewer sirens than usual.

Also in Hertfordshire and noticed an increase, especially undercover police cars

I've heard none, which I noticed earlier today.

I live in rural central Scotland and I'm guessing the fact the dickheads in Audis are not on the country roads doing triple overtakes and causing crashes.

Either that or they don't need sirens to get through the non existent traffic.

So many more than usual here. Me and DH have commented on it a few times. We live in a large northern city and are a mile or two from both a motorway and the city centre and it's been almost continuous. We also are about a mile from our local force HQ so that might have something to do with it!

As a pp suggested we thought it ay be because the roads are so much quieter so we can hear them more. But from our back window (we're on the fourth floor) we can see one of the main roads into/out of the city, and there have definitely been more blue lights on it.

@ComtesseDeSpair I use to live right by the Royal London too! I miss it, although I don't miss the old A&E being right at the end of the road, or the air ambulance thundering over the garden like Apocalypse Now

Where I am now I usually hear the odd siren but haven't in about two weeks, it's much quieter than usual
