Dh has just given me a bonsai tree and growing kit for my birthday.

My approach to pruning is to go mad with secateurs and loppers once or twice a year, usually because I'm losing my temper with a human being, and usually in the wrong season.

My approach to watering is to plant drought-resistant plants.

I don't have any indoor plants other than some minute money plants and the occasional pot of herbs on the kitchen windowsill, for the simple reasons that (a) we have no convenient surfaces for plants, and (b) I forget to water them.

Dh thought this would be a lovely project for me while we're on lockdown. Bonsai is a project for many many years!

I don't even like bonsai. They look stunted, distorted, crippled.

Love is blind.

Suggest some snipping and pruning of his hair will be good practice....

Most bonsai trees should not be kept indoors. I don't know much about bonsai but unless it's a species specifically meant for inside then put it outdoors. If it's in one of those shallow pots I suppose it would need watering in dry spells.

I'm just nodding OP as I am the kind of person that manage to kill the plants in the fishtank

It was my birthday yesterday. Dh gave me the bonsai tree as soon as it arrived, he was afraid it might die if he waited a day or two Confused
