If your partner agrees to get an sti test (not that there's any specific reason to be concerned but I prefer it with new relationships esp if someone has quite a "busy" past, how do I know they've taken the full lot? and what's the proof one would get? I assume a text?

I have had tests in the past carried out privately (instant HIV test, for example). I was given the result verbally but asked for a copy of the result to be emailed to me. I believe NHS test results are sent by text.

Thanks, more answers welcome.

I just wonder if from the test you can see which tests someone had done

You're both supposed to go for a full screen. Then you'll know from your text what it says

The sexual health clinic gave me (and my then bf) a card each with an individual registration number and a telephone number. You phone it after two weeks as instructed, and it says ‘your test result for chlamydia was negative. Your test result for....’ etc etc

So you know exactly what the person with that number was tested for and the results. You can phone it more than once for a couple of days.
