Lovely. Do pop down to a local store and buy some mascara while you’re there.

MyDcAreMarvel · 30/03/2020 09:05

Online!

Superdrug with pharmacies count as essential and will be open,

That they also sell non-essential items during normal times is neither here nor there

LemonGingerCakes · 30/03/2020 09:11

But they’re always out of stock with hand sanitizer...

Honestly, the op posts something to be helpful and people come on and be negative and sarcastic.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 30/03/2020 09:18

Check if it's over 40% alcohol, if it isnt it's useless.

MyDcAreMarvel · 30/03/2020 09:20

62%

Needs to be over 60%.

That’s because my daughter works there and has no screen, if she doesn’t go she won’t get paid, she is self isolating and they want a doctors note for the 2 weeks.

Her asthmatic friend has antibiotics and steroids for a chest infection and she won’t get paid she has been sent a text every day for a doctors note.

They are allowed to open even without pharmacies. They are not essential stores.

People are going in asking for hair dye and mascara.

They’ve offered 20% off stock for NHS staff if they shop on store.

They advertise 50% off in store bargains to keep people coming in.

The only stock being delivered is makeup supplies as everything else is out of stock, even online.

They are a joke.

Have a look at their parent component tweets, all the top brass were posted hand sanitizer whilst working from home.

But do offer free advertising for them.

SoapIsYourFriend · 30/03/2020 09:21

Thank you OP. Flowers

GreenTulips · 30/03/2020 09:24

22 hand sanitizers online - 21 are click and collect only

You work it out

You can get an isolation note done online on nhs website then they can email it to their boss. In this respect the company are not being unreasonable in asking for a doctors note, it’s something they require to process any sick pay

GreenTulips · 30/03/2020 09:32

The friend has been told to self isolate by the doctor.

She has been asked to return to the doctor to get a sick note. They won’t accept the NHS form.

We’ve been through this already.

We are now speaking to the local MP - they aren’t the only ones in this position.

They are only paying contracted hours not worked hours at 80%. They all got an email. If they qualify.

SoapIsYourFriend · 30/03/2020 09:45

@GreenTulips That's awful, terrible company, but OP wasn't to know that.

Marieo · 30/03/2020 09:51

Can your daughter quit @GreenTulips? The high street is going to be in tatters after this anyway, if she isn't safe to be there then why not leave. If people don't go in for hair dye etc even more chance of shops closing for good once this is done. As they are deemed essential it's unlikely people can be furloughed, and if they won't accept a sick note (not sure that's allowed but I'm sure they know people won't seek legal advice due to time and cost), then just don't go back.

Greendin · 30/03/2020 09:55

Tesco hand some in store yesterday, they sold out quickly but it seems manufacturing has recommenced.

GreenTulips · 30/03/2020 10:07

We are waiting and seeing.

But please for all shop workers, stop buying non essentials. Don’t make trips you don’t have to make. Don’t ‘pop’ in just because somewhere is open.

Keep your distance and be safe. X

LemonGingerCakes · 30/03/2020 10:14

It’s in stock online.

This then leads to post worker issues.

Needs to be got somehow.

strawberrylipgloss · 30/03/2020 10:22

Our local Superdrug gets hand sanitizer deliveries every week. You have to queue and be there at opening but I managed to get a couple of bottles about a month ago. It has the Perspex screens at the tills - I hope that your DD's store installs them soon GreenTulips.

Even if there's no pharmacy, I think that they are allowed to stay open because they sell formula, nappies and stuff like paracetamol

PinkSpring · 30/03/2020 10:22

It's in stock BUT you have to collect it, so I would have to make a trip into the city

BiscuitBeige · 30/03/2020 14:53

Some in stock here
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184223433591
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184224393833
Worth looking at some of their other items too

spiderlight · 30/03/2020 15:56

Thank you @BiscuitBeige - just ordered one of those.

TreacherousPissFlap · 30/03/2020 17:04

I bought some today in Waitrose, a larger bottle than I've ever seen before. I also managed to get paracetamol and both types of flour which seemed a hopeful sign.

AddUpToNothing · 30/03/2020 17:44

@GreenTulips I work for them as well. Your daughter is entitled to self isolate for two weeks with no doctors note needed. Her Store Manager should have been briefed on this.
She will be paid 100% of her contracted hours.

She can contact the People Team if her Manager is insisting on the note. They will contact the Manager and ensure she is processed correctly.

GreenTulips · 30/03/2020 18:39

She works 10 hours but contracted to 4

Why aren’t they paying her average ‘paid’ money like other workers?

AddUpToNothing · 30/03/2020 18:58

@GreenTulips I know this is something they are looking into. So it’s possible she may get 10 hours.
