Can I play the sims?

sageandroses · 29/03/2020 16:53

Apparently my CPU is wrong.

Minimum is:

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+

I have:

Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU 4415U @ 2.30GHz

Can anyone help? Can I play it or not - will it just be a bit slow?

I've googled and am getting conflicting responses!

Thanks

Should be okay but it might be a bit laggy

Sims 4 has a version out for computers not up to spec as well

If your worried sims 2 should play and personally I think that's the best one Grin

Sims 2 is the best by far and will play fine if you toggle the graphic options to the lowest spec.

Which one do you want to play? I agree 2 or 4 is better for low spec computers than 3.

I don't really mind to be honest, used to have Sims 2 a fair few years ago! I think this is based on Sims 4. Thanks for the advice all!

Well the big difference between them is that in Sims 2 if you don't play your neighbours, they'll just be frozen in time until you visit their house again. Whereas in Sims 4 they'll grow up, have babies and so on. So quite different play styles I think. I used to be a massive sims 2 fan, but lately I feel like it just takes up too much time to keep everyone in sync, so Sims 4 is more appealing at the minute.

If you play Sims 2 check out default replacements for all the ugly 00s clothing, hairstyles etc:

To be honest you should be OK even with medium/maybe even high settings because the sims 2 was created for such old computers by today's standards. But if you post at the ModTheSims forums, they should be able to tell you if you post what your CPU, RAM and graphics card are:
