I am thinking of ordering one for my parents to be sent over to them. Has anyone tried the meat box option ? Is it worth the money ? Many thanks

I had one delivered this morning. It was worth the money

GreyishDays · 28/03/2020 14:47

Given that it’s meant to feed two for a week I’d guess it’s going to be quite good value. I’m also interested to hear though.

poppy1973 · 28/03/2020 14:47

Hi CatToddlerUprising, can I ask what items you got in it ?

We couldn’t get a delivery slot until April 15th!

Marieo · 28/03/2020 14:48

There is a thread somewhere with photos and the contents posted, hopefully someone else will be able to link it as I can't find it now! I don't think you are getting anything above and beyond your money, but seems reasonable for the price, and enough for 2 adults quite comfortably.

Some info on the thread here, including from people who've had them:

I can get one in my area on April 5th, just thinking that my parents can't get a shopping slot until the 15th and they are too old to get to the shops and not well themselves.

We couldn't get one ☹️

GreyishDays · 28/03/2020 14:52

Oh that’s really useful. Thanks for thread and list and photo!

I ordered one for my parents as they are in the vulnerable group and couldn’t get an online order. It arrived today, in the hour time slot I was given. Contents enough for them to get by for 2 weeks when added to the few bits they had in already.
I’ve ordered another for 2 weeks. Impressed with the idea and the service.

I was supposed to be getting one delivered today. I've had no notification of delivery time from DPD which, according to my confirmation email, I would receive this morning.

I'm assuming now that mine won't turn up.

Did anyone have their box turn up having heard nothing else since booking confirmation?

Farheatarse · 28/03/2020 15:36

My confirmation email ended up in my junk folder, but I did receive texts. Sorry yours hasn’t shown, I feel grateful my parents one turned up now.

Peachbubble · 28/03/2020 17:10

We had one on Friday, exactly the same as above. The order e-mail went to my spam folder, but I got a few texts from DPD to confirm the delivery time.

Tempertamtrum · 04/04/2020 16:50

Just had mine, no rice, no pasta, just 1kg potatoes and one loaf for the carbs - think it's worth about £24, so a disappointing box, won't repeat - won't feed one adult, let alone two

I know I am late to the discussion but thought id post anyway.

I have just received my second food box since lockdown as I was very pleased with my 1st one.
In the evening of receiving my first box (the meat eater box for £35) I went onto the Morrisons website and added everything into my cart to compare the prices of the food box vs if I had got them by regular shopping. (The things that were not able to be added to the cart as they were sold out I substituted for something of the exact same price). It came to £34.50 so only 50p more than going to the supermarket. I am more than happy with that as delivery was free anyway.
Hope this is of help to someone. Smile
