DS 17 has discovered opera - oh yes and of course it has to be played at a 17 year old level - all day.

I'm actually missing the grime stuff he used to listen to, at least every 3rd word of that was blanked out Grin

What new joys has your house discovered?

bagpipes Grin

I love bagpipes but not in my house

Did any of you hear the boy playing the bagpipes on Radio 2 the other week (show and tell just before 8am) - he'd only been playing about a year and was amazing.

HaudMaDug · 28/03/2020 14:32

I heard the wee guy on R2 and he is a bagpipe maestro in comparison to my Ddads skirling.
Mums just glad he left his drum kit back in their holiday home.

Hehe, to these.

I'm sick of the sound of put on high pitched American accents on you tube... thanks DD (she's 8)

Talking of fresh hell...I just opened my big, stupid mouth and suggested to the DCs that they take the chance to learn their didgeridoo we got a couple of years ago. WTF was I thinking?

trappedsincesundaymorn · 28/03/2020 14:51

I'm listening to hours and hours of shitty daytime t.v....I say listening because my elderly deaf neighbour refuses to put her hearing aids in.

Grabbner · 28/03/2020 15:04

A bit off topic but the bagpipe players have just reminded me of when, a couple of months ago, I drove past a small carpark where I sometimes go to take the dog for a walk. Had to do a double take - there was a group of men in kilts playing their bagpipes. No audience, just them, middle of the day.

Grabbner · 28/03/2020 15:05

Well, I say playing. Could’ve just been stood around holding them!

catwithnohat · 28/03/2020 15:29

I'm feeling grateful none of you are my neighbours (and a bit better about my door-slamming, Joe Wickes workout loving ones) and now worried as next door have moved out and are renting out theirs.....

DS15 has been binge watching something called 'ZNATION' since about 8pm last night. Started again at 7am. House full of very loud zombie screams.

He was also 'bored' yesterday morning and decided to not only hoover, but actually pull the sofa out and hoover under it. Jammy sod found a tenner.

My husband insists the only level bit of floor for his golf putting practice is right in front of the telly.
I've suggested the slopey bit over there would develop his skill for putting downhill.

And also avoid him getting a putter shoved up his jacksie

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 28/03/2020 15:48

Z Nation is one if the best things on telly.

iklboo · 28/03/2020 16:00

Zombieland & Zombieland Double Tap are great, fun films.

This is one of the funniest threads! Thank you all for posting, you’ve made me laugh out loud.

HighNetGirth · 28/03/2020 16:56

DS and DD keep talking to me at length about Minecraft. They know I hate it but they do it anyway. Frequently and at length. Eventually I have to hide from them.

pippishortsocks · 28/03/2020 17:29

The didgeridoo playing is in full swing...luckily the farm next door don't care and I don't care about the Stasi next door anyway Grin

UnagiSalmonSkinRoll · 28/03/2020 18:49

My 11 year old didn't have a chance to give his TRUMPET!! back to school, so every day it's attempts of playing Star Wars and Tequila ConfusedGrin

AGnu · 28/03/2020 20:06

8yo has decided he wants to learn the piano "properly." Tbf, he does seem to have a natural flair for it & it's great that he's so dedicated to his practice... But I'm not sure he actually needs to practise Hot Cross Buns in every possible key, with each hand and both together at least every half an hour throughout the day... I've suggested he's got that one right & could perhaps progress to another song now but apparently "that's not the point." Hmm

PaperDreamsHoney · 08/04/2020 16:35

Oh dear God, my 3yo DS has just found the harmonica my grandmother so kindly sent him for Christmas.
