Year 12's how many hours a day?

Trying to understand how much is enough.

School have sent us a questionnaire asking if they are getting enough work - but I don't know how much is reasonable.

They are currently doing 4 hours a day and getting through all the work set by their teachers - but I mentioned this to a friend - who teaches at another secondary and she squirmed uncomfortably, saying there will be lots doing more and lots doing less and I could see she didn't want to pursue the conversation but I was left feeling she didn't think it was enough.

How much are other Year 12s doing?

My ds1's sixth form has gone online.
All lessons as normally timetabled, most are online taught video lessons, some have set work with the teacher available for help during the lesson.

He is doing all of these, which is only 4 hours per subject per week.
He also seems to be doing a similar amount of 'homework' as he was doing previously.

Our kids are just being told the topics they need to cover - being sent slides, they have the textbooks and are told to get one with it - it's very dry - not sure they could do more than 4 hours.

The provision is going to be very mixed.
Hopefully it will only improve as schools and teachers get to grips with it.

I am VERY impressed by the sixth form ds1 attends - but we are extremely lucky that it is one of the better in the country and we live in catchment, and he is lucky to be academically able enough to have met the entry requirements.

I'm also impressed with the secondary ds2 attends. They aren't doing online lessons but have set work each day in line with their timetables lessons. Not sure on marking and feedback yet as it's only been 1 week. They can also email their teachers etc.

Both have had excellent communication to both the students and parents.

About 5 hours. My poor year 10 is overcome with work she did 8 hours just yesterday. If it carries on I will be emailing the teachers.

My year 10 doing about 4 though he says 5....
He has organised himself as some of work set open-ended and some more deadliney.
Think doing ok so far though is of course only end of week 1.
Think huge range amongst his friends with some doing very little indeed.
