Let’s remember the days when the world was ours to take and the music was great.

Playing playlists on Spotify, currently Stone roses I wanna be adored

Jump in with your songs and what your life is like (circa 95 +/- 5 years 😬)

Oh and I reek of Impulse O2, CK One and Marlboro lights. Often at the same time....

It's 1996 and I'm in sixth form. We go to the pub on Saturday nights and it's always packed and smoky. No one ever eats in pubs, although we have heard that you can. I'm wearing jeans, docs and a velvet blazer from a charity shop. I'm not into tie dye stuff or mood rings any more. We drink snakebite and black if we have money, pints of lager if not. We argue over who is better out of oasis and blur. I read so many books and dream of moving to London. I go there occasionally and wander round Camden market buying bootleg tapes and tins for my weed.

My people! 1996 and 1997 were my best 90s years.
I was early 22 and lost in music, (and other substances).
Lived in bucket hat, green velvet Docs or black patent knee length Docs (still do).
Spent almost every weekend either at a gig anywhere in the country or hanging out/getting stoned with my best friends 'Iggy and the Stooges'.
Never been a drinker so I was the driver, (my 1st car Fiesta XR2) Iggy was in 'the passenger' seat and 2 squashed in the back were Steve and Wullie. Iggy now responsible dad to 8 kids. Steve and Wullie both long gone to the big Rave in the sky. Steve to cancer, Wullie to drug overdose. RIP my buddies, I still miss you.
We did loads of festivals.

Glastonbury, Radiohead have been staple listening material ever since.
T in the Park, Strathclyde Country Park when the locals burst through the fence and invaded the site when the Prodigy came on.
Leeds, Foo Fighters had just formed just after Nirvana.
Oasis at Loch Lomond, Liam stopped the show due to bottles of piss flying everywhere.
Many more but I vaguely remember the names, sure I was at one in Irvine or Troon, I just remember seeing Supergrass and Shed 7 near the beach.
Probably lost more brain cells in those years than I've ever had. I still love a good gig or festival and would do the 90s again tomorrow.

It’s 1995 and I’m 18 and skinny enough to wear a bra top and hot pants when I go out raving to jungle music (which is every Friday and Saturday, sometimes Sunday too). Probably skinny because I survive on a diet of fags and Oasis fruit punch.

My life revolves around raving, bunking off college to sit in my friends’ bedrooms and listen to pirate radio, and my boyfriend (who’s really cool, as he’s older than me and drives a Merc...thankfully I dump him in 1996, as he turns in to a weed smoking waster in later life).

1999 and I'm 18 and in Ibiza. The vengaboys are played everyday. Back home I listened to Travis why does it rain on me.

Anyone else waiting for 90s discos/themed nights to take over from all the 80s ones. I never really got all the tutu/fluorescent/80s music thing. 90s was a far superior decade.

OlaEliza · 28/03/2020 15:08

Check out back to 95 👍

HaudMaDug · 28/03/2020 15:12

90s themed night would be fab. I'd def be there giving it big fish, little fish, cardboard box.

I was born in 1990 so it wasn’t such a glamorous era for me Grin I probably drove my parents nuts begging for Adidas popper trousers and listening to Aqua/Spice Girls/Backstreet Boys on repeat.

I had a Tamagotchi that I wasn’t allowed to take to school so my mum had to keep it alive until I got home Grin

We played Spice Girls in the playground and I always wanted to be Baby but my friends made me be Sporty because I had dark hair and a long ponytail Sad
