Funny feeling in tummy same time everyday??

Title pretty much says it all!

For the past week or so I've been getting a funny feeling in my stomach (kind of a cross between diarrhoea cramps and hunger) it's always the same time - around 5pm and lasts about an hour then just fades away by itself.

It's not extremely painful or anything but more of a discomfort that makes me want to just lie in bed.

Any ideas? I'm aware I probably sound barking mad!

Could you be pregnant maybe?

tilligan · 27/03/2020 17:52

Sounds like IBS or an intolerance, what was the last thing you ate before the symptoms start each day?

Friendsofmine · 27/03/2020 17:58

Are you taking a supplement on an empty stomach in the early afternoon?

Definitely not pregnant... I have a 6 week old and no romance for a while Grin

Could it be your internal organs all settling back into place after the pregnancy ?

AhoyMrBeaver · 27/03/2020 18:07

Are you having a strong coffee or something at the same time every day?

Livedandlearned · 27/03/2020 18:10

Is it a long time since you ate when the pains start?

Elllicam · 27/03/2020 18:11

Anxiety? I start getting more worries in the evenings

Lynda07 · 27/03/2020 18:11

Try drinking some milk, that often helps (no milk if you're actually having diarrhoea of course). It could be tension which does peak and mess up the digestive system a bit.

DancingDelli · 27/03/2020 21:32

I don't feel anxious and I it's always around 4 hours after eating lunch so not sure if it could be digestion issues? I normally eat soup and bread or something quite vegetable based but nothing out of the ordinary for me.

I had a tummy bug this time last year that only came on in the evenings. Lasted about a week.

Littleshortcake · 27/03/2020 22:47

I'm not sure what it is but I know if I eat a banana everyday I don't get stomach pains (and I often do). Are you eating enough?

Ifonlywecouldwishuponastar · 28/03/2020 00:13

Could be ibs. It might be worth doing a food diary. I've started reacting to chocolate of all things. I had noticed a pattern each time I ate it I was ill.

73kittycat73 · 28/03/2020 00:17

Are you peeing and drinking more? One of the symptoms of my type 2 diabetes was hunger after eating. Hopefully it's not that (!) and you don't have the other symptoms?

DancingDelli · 28/03/2020 01:13

No other symptoms kitty. I'm starting to wonder if it's maybe mild IBS that I've maybe developed? I'll start keeping a food diary and switching up my lunches to see if that helps.

Phew, that's good to hear. I hope you manage to get to the bottom of it anyway. Smile

Mimishimi · 28/03/2020 02:07

I had this the past two weeks too - particularly noticeable the first week. Not so much now. I did wonder if it's a symptom of the virus.

Silvercatowner · 28/03/2020 06:04

I was getting something similar and tried to trace back to what I'd eaten earlier. The only consistent thing was my morning latte. When I stopped that, the symptoms disappeared.

CupoTeap · 28/03/2020 06:52

Have you been watching The press conferences at 5pm each day? If so it could be anxiety.

CountFosco · 28/03/2020 06:57

You have a 6 week old? Has your lochia finished? Have you had your 6 week check up with the GP? Ask then. I'd think it was probably pregnancy related somehow.

HelgaHere1 · 28/03/2020 07:07

If I don't eat something mid morning, probably more than one biscuit, more like a roll or piece of toast or cheese and biscs, I get low blood sugar about 4 oclock which is feeling a bit wobbly and starving.

So eat then.

Are you breast feeding ?
