I'm shaking with anger.
DH took 15 month old out to the van, I assumed he was putting stuff away and keeping LO entertained while I make a drink.

2 mins later I look outside to find he's putting the van on the drive with LO on the front seat!!!

I'm furious, told him it's illegal but apart from that what if someone was coming round the corner at speed!!

Honestly don't know what goes through his head at times, or what doesn't ☹️

Definitely no flippancy here. Bad things happen. Accidents happen.

My babies safety is my priority.

But thanks for some of the responses. Some are helpful, some are rude (shock for MN) and some are just ridiculous.

OP, you are me 13 years ago.

This sort of stuff bothered me SO much with my first baby, I would be shaking sigh anger 😂.

Now I'm on my third baby (same age, 15 months) and I've lightened up a LOT.

Some parents are uptight with their first babies, and people on her forget.

I mean I wouldn't do it, or make a habit out of it but I wouldn't be shaking with anger either.

What a drama queen!! I feel bad for your husband... and he most probably can’t even go to war to escape. Poor man!

Mamato2gorgeousboys · 27/03/2020 19:09

Work* not war

Bad things happen. Accidents happen.

But nothing bad happened. Just have a conversation when your son is in bed and say you would rather he didn't do it again. Thats what adults who are successfully parenting should do.

There should be no need to shake in anger, shout, spout off about how hes breaking the law, catatrophise and then post a thread on the matter. Its such a huge over reaction to something that probably lasted no more than 2 minutes.

My DH let my 3yo steer while he turned the van the other way around on the drive to clean it.

I was just glad of the peace and quietBlush

diamondsandrose · 27/03/2020 19:21

I don't see a problem
Look we are all a bit stressed at the moment why don't you pour a glass of wine try and relax
It's honestly not a big deal

I wouldn't risk it myself. I would be angry too but I live on a main road and people speed past our house. If it is a quiet cul de sac it's probably pretty safe but I probably still wouldn't risk it.

JKScot4 · 27/03/2020 20:00

@feebeecat 🤣🤣🤣

Christ lockdown must be fun for this poor guy with OP shaking with anger!
Probably needs her permission to fart 🙄

BillywilliamV · 28/03/2020 07:37

I wish they taught risk assessment in schools, I really do! Don't want to lay into OP because that's just nasty, but in this case the risk to your mental health and to your relationship from your reaction, far out strips any original risk to the child in this scenario.
