Please help!

Hi there I was wondering if anyone else is in this situation to get some advice. My husband was made redundant in January, he started a new job on the 2nd March he has to stay at home because the business is closed.

The government said employers will get 80% pay but unfortunately you have to of been employed on or before the 28th feb. We are very worried as no pay coming in. Sorry I know everyone is suffering and I know there is people worse of but I’m reaching out Thanks so much [

Thanks for your reply. Iv tried to contact universal credit all day I’m worried sick apparently if I am eligible It will take 5 Weeks to get any kind of payment. Thanks again

I think the system is pretty overwhelmed right now, I would check what other benefits you are entitled to and try (if you haven't already) applying online for UC here rather than over the phone x
