Random payment from Greggs??

Have just checked my online banking and there is a payment of £17 from Greggs?! It's definitely not a refund as I haven't set foot in a shop for months.
I worked for them for about three months while I was a student but that was four years ago!
Has anyone else had this?

Any chance they could have discovered they underpaid you or didn't pay a couple of hours holiday pay that were owed?

Are you still at the same address? They might have written to you to tell you they were going to make a payment and why but you haven't received it for some reason.

Could it be the bonus that was widely reported a few months back? Perhaps you worked for them for some of the qualifying period?

No I'm not at the same address, could be that I guess. I did wonder about the bonus but I only worked there for about three months in 2016!

This is sometimes a scam. The scam will check you received the funds ok to make sure it's a live bank account. Usually then followed up with "please transfer to XXX Bank Account"
