Playing music / singing online

If you want to duet with someone online, what is the best way to do it? Eg playing guitars and singing? I have MS teams, but it seems only one of us can hear at once, maybe it’s something to do with the way it prioritises one person speaking?
I know there’s apps like jammr but I don’t have the audio/usb converter, I just want a simple way to play together.
Is zoom any better?

You can't, there will be a delay due to differing internet speeds.

I’m not so worried about latency, we have fast broadband and live near each other. It’s more that the sound always cuts one of us out

Anybody got any other ideas?

Zoom doesn't cut people off, but honestly, there will be a delay, regardless of how close to each other you are or how fast your broadband.

Ok 😃 thanks
So how are the choir people doing it, are they just accepting the delay?

The choir people are not doing it together. One sings their part and records it. This gets sent to others who listen through headphones while so gong along and recording. The recordings all get put together. There really is no way of doing it in real-time.

Oh.... I really wish there was!

If you do it over 4g does the same apply?

It is the same regardless of your internet connection because everyone is running at a different speed, even if it's a slight difference, and then there's the time it takes to transmit from person to another and back again. For my choir, we've had our rehearsals where we can only hear the choir leader and we sing along with her.
