Please help. Creation finance company

Yesterday while going through all our finances in a desperate bid to keep our house (both self employed in now dud industries) i noticed a D/D on my personal account I didn't recognise. I was thrown by the fact it was a direct debit, but I've had 3 incidents of fraudulent transactions on this account (despite new cards) in 18 months and in a panic, cancelled the D/D whilst reading trust pilot reviews of the company -just awful, says they make your life a nightmare, ruin your credit file etc-

As i scrolled through all the awful reviews, I noticed it mentioned DFS.

4 months ago we bought a sofa on finance from DFS. It occured to me that I hadn't seen the d/d for this purchase since it started and had no idea what our monthly payment was. Call DFS who confirm yes, that was what this payment was.

Am now in absolute stress trying to reinstate this d/d. No one at the bank answering, dfs can't do anything and Creation.co.uk (the finance company) is all automated phone calls. I cannot access their stupid customer account online system because I don't have an account, have scoured emails from them to find anything- nothing. (Same for dfs and this purchase, nothing on email or in paper form, so weird. I think something has gone wrong somewhere)

Am now terrified that my otherwise perfect credit file is about to be ripped to shreds and am in for endless hell from this finance company trying to rectify this. I am beyond kicking myself for clicking cancel. I don't know how to undo this.

I'm recovering from suspected corona and just feel so weak. I could cry.

Any help? If it wasn't for the fact I desperately need to hang on to our savings I'd just pay the balance 1.6k (the ONLY option they offer on their phone line) but I just can't.

Calm down, this is easily fixable Flowers

Call the number and go to the pay balance option. Almost certainly there will be a human monitoring that. Then tell them you accidentally cancelled the DD and can they reinstate it please.

If you mean that is also a purely automated line, then make a manual payment using the details on this page, and write to them (address also on this page).

And send an email covering whatever you do to [email protected].

Payment for this month has thankfully already left so i have a month before I potentially get into any "missed payment" issues but judging by the trust pilot reviews I'm so so anxious. One lady said she phoned up and paid 2 days before her payment was due and they still claimed she had missed a payment.

I've messaged via their online form but I'll email too and I'll try your suggestion RE balance payment. Thank you

Oh then it's no worries!

Just send the email asking them to reinstate the DD and it'll all be fine!
