I have found that the most important thing is to find something that the kids like doing that is linked to school. This is a real issue at the moment. But most children like dinosaurs. I would start a competition but I am new to Mumsnet and I don't know how! But my new book HERBIE AND THE T. REX (on Amazon) will really get the children listening and reading. I have some presentations I have given in schools, which I could send if any one sends me an email. My favourite presentation focuses on how dinosaurs were becoming more like us, but I have some quizzes and riddles in verse too...
