I have just bought an Echo Show but I think I had overestimated the abilities. For example, I wanted to be able to search Spotify visually, using the screen as per the screenshot from my phone. However, all I can do is activate Spotify verbally, which is what I wanted to avoid! Have I totally misunderstood the point of this?
If so, could I connect an old iPad using an Aux to stream music into the Echo show speakers? I could connect my Bluetooth but that isn't always reliable.

Sorry to be so daft!

You set up Spotify in your skills and then control from your phone?

JangledBat · 25/03/2020 11:21

See if it's recognised as a speaker on Bluetooth

oxcat1 · 25/03/2020 11:21

But then there is no advantage to having a screen, is there?

I only have the Google one. You set it up in the Home app, set Spotify as your music app, and I just tell Spotify what to play. I can also change the song on my Spotify app and it continues to play. I would have thought they're all similar

@JangledBat : but that's the bit I'm struggling with, telling it what to play! I sometimes need to browse and I thought the screen would facilitate that?

I'd try Googling or look in their FAQ then

I have, but haven't found answers. I just hoped a more experienced user might be able to help me out.
Thanks anyway.
